What a dream fixture looming for the runaway leaders of The Championship, top at home on a record breaking sequence of home wins, against the perennial strugglers at this level. Goals from all over the pitch. A bumper attendance....what could possibly go wrong eh?
Roger Johnson playing his fiftieth game for Wolves tonight against the side he left us for. seems a long time ago, and he appears a shadow of his former self in my humble!
Not doing them much good. Jast added this as while watching bits of the Wolves Brum game a few players name catch the attention. I wonder is some of the players manetioned would prefer to be with us with hindsight. Sigurdarson turned us down for Wolves, Burke left us for Brum. Widening the net, I wonder what Jay is thinking. Also Keogh going to derby. As for the last one, we mightn't have got Connoly if Keogh had joined. Blake is probably the only one to benefit by leaving. Funny how things turn out!
Im stating the obvious remote but its all ifs and buts. Would we be where we are now if all those stayed or joined? Who knows? Personally, at this moment in time I'll take what we have and its their loss. If any of them are looking up and thinking "If only..." Tough!!
Top laying Bottom is always a potential banana skin but I think that this great team of our will roll up Boro without too much problem. Everyone outside the club is raving about the winning home record run but I honestly don't think the players feel any pressure from it at all. In fact I think they revel in it, feeling it gives them that air of invincibility, that coupled with the crowd at the CCS the feel makes them almost unbeatable. I beleive certain teams in the Championship are now coming to CCS with an air of resination, even though it may never be openly expressed. A win on saturday will give us 7 without defeat and be a great platform for the trip to Leicester. Even a point from that will bring Palace here knowing they have a battle on their hands. One I think they'll lose.
the only player i would have back now with this current sqaud is Matthews its the only place we could do with a bit more cover still IMO!!
If you go on the Posh site, it's all about Minxy...Minxy's this and Minxy's that..and Clingo is on there commenting on her football knickers. I have got to say it...I do not think she is capable of being my darling!
The home record as been broken, so that's out of the way, so that pressure is off. Hopefully the Blackburn game has helped our confidence away ? Now its time to impose ourselves on other teams, and move to the next level and build a big gap from 1st to third if we can break away from 2nd place all the better. This weekend we are at home against the Posh , Palace are away to Brum and Leicester are away to Millwall and Boro and Hull are home to Wolves and Huddersfield. The only one I would bet on getting maximum points are us(but I wont, I never bet on the City).
All we can do is win our 3 points and what happens elsewhere happens. Saying that, I can't see all 4 of the others winning their games. Things are starting to spread out now. If we can get 2 wins and a draw as a minimum from the next 4 (and I'm more confident of that than I would have been a few weeks back) we'll be top 2 at Christmas.
