According to WoL this is our new man to lead the line: - http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-make-offer-more-10630098 He's 6 ft 5 1/2 ins apparently. Going to be lots of ball up in the air. Hope he's not another Cornelius.
Just had a look at some vids and he looks like a string of piss to me - but I suppose so did Peter Crouch. Don't want to be too critical but an awful lot of his goals on the vids look like to have been gifts set up by his spectacularly unselfish team mates. I also suppose he had to make the effort to get there to accept the ball - a quality Jones clearly lacks.
That was my original thought when I read the article. I suppose we'd lose a lot less on him than we did on Cornelius even if he turned out to be as poor. Would hopefully be more enthusiastic than Jones and on a fraction of the wages. I trust appropriate due diligence will be done on this one now we have our transfer panel in place.
He sounds like KWJ's replacement tbh. If he's signed on half the reported wages of KWJ (circa £45k) he'd repay his transfer fee in about 35 weeks. KWJ had me literally screaming at the tele on Friday. I can handle him wandering around the pitch like some massive lazy disinterested prick in open play but when he's on his heels 8 yards from goal I reach my limit. We could have been 2-0 up inside 10 minutes if he'd been on his toes in the box. Pilks header back was a ****ing tap in if the useless twat was on the move. If he'll accept a massive pay cut with big goal/appearance bonuses then resign him on a 12-18 month deal. If he wants his current money let someone else take the risk of him regarding his next (and maybe final) contract as his pension plan and sitting on the bench collecting the money for a couple of years.
Relax Guys.....Big Alex is on his way back. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-recall-alex-revell-10631786
No Dutch guy, Revell coming back (having failed to set Wigan alight ), KWJ being a total dick and Ameobi calling himself a footballer under false pretences. Bugger's muddle is the phrase that springs to mind!!!
Not really impressed with most of goals but if you are in the right place, that's all we want someone who can score. Mind you I am 70 years old and I think I could have scored at least one of those, maybe not.
Never mind Nin - another league 1 "star" is in our sights to set the pulses racing. http://the72.co.uk/42256/three-championship-clubs-chase-posh-striker/
I have no issue signing a young L1 striker but the secret to it surely is pace. Most who go through the divisions with a few exceptions (Ricky Lambert springs to mind) are quick. Pace works at every level from Sunday league to Champions league. I don't think I've ever watched the lad, if he's quick great if he's not he'll probably just be another Doyle.
At least Washington knows the area having spent a season or so at Newport. I'm sure they have a sell on clause so some benefit to come to them in due course.
Do you know, I wonder where these "rumors" emanate. Every transfer rumour is cascaded by an agent. Agents leave a nasty taste in the mouth IMO.
