Take Higuan and Modric in a swap deal for Bale? A rival fan at my work asked this question and I wasn't sure. I think I would.
We sold Modric last year for £33 million, what is his worth now? Higuan is 25 and I reckon is worth £20 million at least. It puts the value at about £50 million in total. I guess it depends where we end up this season and if Bale wants to stay if we are not in the champions league. Ideally we buy both and keep Bale, I will be happy with that bit of business this summer!
I can't see us getting a better striker than him though can you? Unless we are lucky with a Benteke type player or something. If Madrid did make a move what players would you like as part of the deal or would it be cash only?
I wouldn't want Modric back. I'd take Higuain, we won't be able to purchase better. Ozil!?!? Lol. He is the sort of player we need IMO. I think i'd rather keep Bale but Higuain + Ozil (+cash?) would be a good deal. Before the WUMs start, yes i'm aware Ozil/Higuain might not want to move to Spurs, that is why my preference is to keep our existing player, its probably easier to persuade to stay than persuade to join
Nope for a number of reasons. 1) Bale is the best player in the Premier League right now and ARGUABLY the best performing player of the calender year so far. 2) Modric will never be welcomed back here (by me at least). He treated us like **** and that won't be forgotten. 3) Bale is worth more than a combined value of Modric and Higuain so we'd be losing out on potential earnings (I'd rate them at £50m combined, Bale is worth £60m minimum in my opinion when you take into account current market values of some players). 4) Bale will probably be the best player I'll ever see in a Spurs shirt so I want to keep him here for as long as possible until an enourmous bid comes in which is accepted and he decides to leave.
if someone wants bale and IF he wants to go then it should a money only deal in my opinion...we should tell them what we want and we should buy our players before we sell so we ain't left in the **** at the last minute (again). as for Modric...no ... the bloke acted like a twat and as this season has shown we can happily cope without him. he can have his dream move to Chelsea where Jose can keep his arse warming their bench
No chance, Rat Face has burnt his bridges at Spurs and Higuain`s wages will probably be too steep for us. I am sick of reading and hearing about potential deals for Bale, swap deals or straight cash deals... we have to keep Bale and add to him, rather than selling him and replacing him.
If we do get 4th then attracting quality players will be a lot easier. The question is if we miss out on champions league will Bale feel he needs to play it in next year? A player who wants to go is suddenly worth a lot less.
Don't get me wrong Cockeral I don't want him to go in any deal I just thought it was an interesting one to think about. Obviously keep Bale and get NEW STRIKER would be the dream but if Bale does feel he needs champions league football and we aren't in it next year then I don't think you can blame him for thinking about going elsewhere. It will hardly be his fault if we do miss out. The same can't be said for Modric last year.
Not in a month of Sundays. Rat face is a shinning example of why the grass isn't always greener. And I think we could do more with the cash than in a player swap. Much prefer to just keep him...
Modric..NO I wouldn't care if I never saw his 'sorry looking ass' again. Keep Bale and build around him, I'd say.
I think we can hold grudges a bit too long here. Modric acted like a ****er but he is a class player. imagine a midfield 3 with him, Sandro and Dembele. I was one of those who was desperate for us to resign Berbatov and there was a lot of people on here who were dead against it. If we had signed him we wouldn't be struggling for fourth right now that's for sure. I reckon we could even be second.
No because Modric's heart wouldn't be in it and would want away again soon to Chelsea. Never buy back.
Higuain and Modric? No. Throw in Di Maria and Coentrao too and that might just about match Bale's value.
I don't like a team offering a player plus cash because you might not have shown any interest in that player before. Now if the team offered a player was to be given the choice of a player then I'd agree with it.
