some good names on there Ferreira, Ballack, Hargreaves, Pires, Zambrotta, Adriano, Carew and a few others aswell, fk knows if any of them are still decent
Hasnt cole joined someone? William Gallas as centre half cover? Could cover left back too? Getting on a bit but experienced
Yeah, Gallas would be a good signing ...experienced. All these are depending on what wages they would want... possibly any decent players would want want £40k plus as freebies!!! Think Cole was due to join Palace but never took it up...still a freebie on Wikipedia.
Dont think anyone would advocate that. But experienced players can be a good thing. They can teach the younger lads as well as adding cover. Remember we signed a past it 33 year old called lubo once
Yeah but with Lubo dr jo knew the player and knew what he was getting. These free agents tend to be guys looking for a retirement package and end up a waste of money.
Yes, Ljungberg was considered a bit of a flop, but you'd have to consider what kind of an influence he had over the younger guys. It may not be worth the wage, but if it was a positive, great.
Dont get me wrong its a risk, its why you have to rske care. Just because they are old doesnt mean they csnt do a job for a year or two. And more importantly they help the youngsters. Gallas played ok when called upon in the epl last season. No reason he coildnt do a job in a few games
Bob Malcom I'm afraid I feel slightly dirty even looking at that list, I feel as if i'm raking the reduced bin at Poundland and everyone is looking at me.
Remember this classic? [h=1]Football Star Bob Malcolm Banned For Falling Asleep On Motorway[/h] 30 Jan 2008 00:00 FORMER Rangers and Scotland defender Bob Malcolm has been banned from driving after being found fast asleep and drunk in the middle lane of a motorway. Amazingly, Derby County player Malcolm thought he had pulled over to the side of the road after being "overtaken by tiredness". He was found slumped over the wheel of his silver Range Rover in the middle of the M1 and a recovery vehicle driver had to wake him up before calling cops. A roadside breath test showed he was more than double the limit. Yesterday Malcolm was fined £750, banned from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay £75 costs. He also agreed to take a drink-drivers' rehab course which will reduce his ban by five months if he completes it successfully. Malcolm - who was on loan to London club Queen's Park Rangers at the time - has suggested on the club's website that he was "very upset and frustrated" by the referee's performance in a game the previous day.
