<peacedove>Nicolas Anelka was disappointed when Houllier let him go at
the end of his loan spell with Liverpool. He was willing to play for Liverpool. It was
after he left that we realised that Houllier made a mistake in that respect.
Now, there is speculation that Chelsea is going to offload him in January by allowing
him to go on free transfer.Nicolas Anelka is no longer the player he used to be in the
past, even if it is only till the end of current season, would you recommend
    Nicolas Anelka to Kenny Dalglish.?<ok>:undecided:

no - I don't trust any striker who is po faced after scoring a goal. It should be what he lives for, not shrugged off with a French "I have scored a goal. It is what I do. I am too cool for le school" etc

Yes, like a flash. Never understood why we let him go in first place. He's a goalscorer, exactly what we need. I don't give a **** if he doesn't do a triple somersault with half pike when he scores, as long as he scores.

No thanks, the law of diminishing returns apply here - he's averaging a goal every 5-6 games and he's 32. Carroll's strike rate is better at 1 in 4 and he's only going to improve if he gets game time.

I agree, but the original question was if he was free. As a short term fix he would be ideal.
