Would you take Loic Remy back?

He's probably not gonna be Chelsea's second choice next season, and I doubt he'll want to be 3rd choice.

I'd take him for 7/8m. There are more popular players at the moment up for grabs and ones on better form, but Remy is a proven goalscorer in the right team.

Even with our **** service he scored 15 goals. Pace, finishing ability and a poacher.

I'd definitely have him rather than spending 12-13m on a foreign talent.

One of the reasons we've struggled this year is we've signed too many mercenaries over the last couple years. Our best signing we could make would be Austin. Only 4/5 years ago he was non league I believe. He'd feel privileged to be playing premier league football I'd imagine, especially in front of 50 thousand most weeks.

 

I agree with mercenaries, of which Remy is one, so it's a no from me. Go for an Austin/Ings type of player, young and hungary

 

We need strikers who score goals. Remy is no the most animated in terms of passion, but he's not a completely cold hearted arsehole.

He may be a merc to a degree, but he's no more a merc than most players, and at least he earns his wages with goals he scores.

Austin requires good service to be effective. Remy can be effective with or without great service. If we seriously would rather have Austin then we need to sign a good winger and a playermaker.

Definite no from me. Signing Remy is not the answer. I agree. We should be trying to get Austin AND Ings (won't happen - but at least try). Both would be better signings than Remy for me.

 

If you told me he was a replacement for Cisse, then yes.

If you told me he would be our only striker signing, I'd be concerned about the make up of our attack. We'd be very lightweight. When the tough games come (I mean the horrible away games in the winter), we'd no doubt be left with young Perez again as others wouldn't fancy it, injuries and so on. I agree with the above we need to restore the balance in the squad in terms of character. They don't have to be English but it helps. If we could go get the Ings, Austins of the world then great - I just don't see us competing for that kind of signing.

You can't get away from it though, Remy was a very good fit while here.
