Paul Lambert has been sack as manager of Villa tonight. If Redders steps down or get's pushed at the end of the season would you accept him as coach?
A hard one, I would have said yes in an instant this time last year but now I wonder if he is like McDermott, he was great with Norwich like McD with Reading and you wonder if that was his moment in history never to be repeated.
The question with Lambert and Villa is... would he have stood a better chance if Learner actually gave a crap about the club and not openly shown his couldn't give a crap attitude over the last few years. After O'Neil storming out and the ****ness of Houllier and Mcleish, I think Lambert has been at the rough end of the stick
Yes. Lambert didn't work at Villa for multiple reasons. Villa have decided it seems that they are not ever gonna spend money again. Lambert's style is also completely different to McDermott and he does love his youth players and seems able to mould them. I really do think there are more problems at Aston Villa than just the manager and by sacking him they will paper of the cracks for now. Lambert is a fantastic manager and there are very few options I could think of that I would prefer.
Sorry still think he should have got much more out of a talented squad and being so negative with his formations no I wouldnt have him another George Graham for me
No thanks. As a side issue, every time i see him or hear his name, i think about their keeper kicking it straight to Beckford and him running on with it and scoring late on, the look on Lamberts face was priceless.
Have to say I agree, it's not like their squad is particularly poor. They may not have world class forwards, but Benteke is pretty good and it's not like Agbonlahor and Weimann have never played/scored at Premier League level before. Not saying he should have them challenging for European places, but I think their squad is more than good enough for mid table, and they should definitely have scored more than 12 goals.
would not disturb the apple cart right now as i dont think any manager brought in could match or beat 4 wins out of 5 matches as i said leave redfearn in charge till end of season and see where leeds are then if we have finished in the top 10 then i would let redfearn keep the job for start of next season and see how we go on also i think cellino will be saving alot of money by keeping redfearn in charge as he does not have to pay out compensation on managers being sacked
Would I take Lambert? Yes, but, maybe not at the moment. Redders has got them playing some good stuff, & should be allowed to see where it takes us. Given Delph's view of Lambert, maybe we can get Lambert & get him to bring Delph back. Now that would be a good move
