Honestly I would take the swap deal but I can't see us cashing in but his form has dipped so maybe he is going to start getting worse whilst Marcelo is getting better and better.

Would Madrid be stupid enough to do this deal?

Fabio should geta chance if evras not performing. Look how Rafael has come on after he got a chance. Also it might make evra improve as he will have to fight for his position.

I would probably swap them. After all, they are both similar players but Marcelo is seven years younger. But I can't see Madrid going for the swap.

Regardless, I'd definitely like to see Fabio get more game time this season - given how much Rafael has improved this season, if Fabio can do the same our full back positions would be sorted for the long term.

I can't believe what I am reading here. Marcelo is just a Brazilian Glen Johnson. He cannot defend for toffee and is horribly exposed whenever he plays at LB. As a winger he is decent but defensively he is shocking and he would really get exposed in England.

Spot on Batman. Ignore their ages. Evra has been one of the most consistent full backs in the Premier League since he arrived, even if he hasn't had a great season this year. Marcelo is clearly the weak link in that Real side and age doesn't really come into it as far as I'm concerned. It would weaken our team so I definitely wouldn't welcome such a deal.

It's Luis talking here. He knows nothing about football.

Nope. I want to see Fabio get a chance as I think he can become a very good player

No for me too. I would choose evra over marcelo every day of the week, and as others have stated, i would love to see fabio get a proper run. if he's anywhere near as good as his brother on a consistent basis we have natural width still, whilst having 2 of the most gifted young full backs in the world.

I can't see Evra leaving and even if he did Fabio should replace him.

Don't you think it's a bit to soon asking Fabio to replace Evra, without him experiencing first team football?

Yeh but Ashley Cole was still pretty shocking defensively at that age - look how he developed.

Anyway, rumours are that deal won't happen as Evra about to sign a new 4 year contract.
