if he attempts to sign Andy Carroll. WHU bid of 15m acceptable which makes him a snip, and he could meet the requirements of PDC striker quality.

THIS NOT A FRIVOLOUS POST TO STIR THINGS UP, JUST A GENUINE ATTEMPT TO GAUGE HOW MUCH SUPPORT THERE IS FOR HIS JUDGMENT OF PLAYER QUALITY.

I think one ex-Geordie striker at a time is enough for our squad lol.

As a matter of pure academic interest, I think Carroll is quite decent and he's performed well for West Ham this season. Even ignoring his previous ties, I still reckon we could spend the $15m better and get better value for money.

I know that there are some who just can't accept Geordies at our club, but I've never been one of them.

If a manager, coach or player is good enough then we should be signing them regardless of where they were born.

I think that Andy Carroll's nocturnal activities will not impress PDC at all, so for that reason alone I wouldn't sign him, unless we want another Phil Bardsley style **** storm!

Played in the right way i.e not how he was used a Liverpool, he is a real handful and a threat.

Two things that put me off is that the price is steep, and he has had off field issues. I do not know if he has moved on from the latter, or if being back in the NE would perhaps rekindle these issues.

As for him being a Mag, doesn't he apparantly have family that aren't that way?

not for me either. I want open attacking football..not route one hoof ball aiming for a central striker. There's that reason and I also think he is a twat, which doesn't help his cause with me at all

Talent-wise; yes. But he is injury-prone and, as mentioned above, a bit of a dickhead. The mag thing doesn't worry me as much as the other stuff.

15m for that piece of ****...

You could find somebody outside of Britain, similar to Andy Carroll, for a third of the price.

Carroll would be fantastic for us alongside Fletcher.

    Simple as that.

I would support PDC, simple fact is Carroll would not fit into PDC's ethic so he wont try and sign him.

Introducing a code of conduct and discipline while signing andy Carroll is a direct contradiction in terms

He needs Kevin Nolan to keep him right, he has only really played well with Nolan somewhere in tow. Can't see either coming to us.
