Would you start Ireland against Man Utd?

  1. I don't know about you, but i don't think Guthrie or Raylor are strong enough to put a dent in Man United or have any sort of impact on the game, do you reckon we should, play Stephen Ireland?

I know it's a risk, but i would rather see what Ireland has and get him playing. He's been out for ages and it's time he got his arse working, and i don't really rate Raylor or Guthrie as quality players, only squad players.

This is the team i'd put out -

    ---------------Harper----------------

    Simpson----Taylor---Colo------Enrique

    Ireland----Barton-----Tiote------Jonas

    ----------Shola-------Lover----------

    Subs:

    Krul
    Airey
    Ranger
    Raylor
    Guthrie
    Ferguson

I'd put Ireland RM because he has better pace than Barton, and Barton is better at CM than RM.

    Anyone else agree?

I'd rather play Ryan Taylor on the right. Where's Willo?

Don't know what it is about Saylor, but just don't like him. Wouldn't change the willo-colo partnership til at least the end of the season.

    Harps
    Simmo colo willo jose
    Raylor Barton Tiote Jonas
    Ireland
    Shola/Lovenkrands

    My personal team :

    Harper
    Simpson Willo Colo Enrique
    Barton Guthrie Tiote Jonas
    Ireland
    Shola

    We'll get overun with a 442 IMO.

  8. I could put Harper and Sol Campbell upfront and call it a partnership. Colo and Willo together doesn't really mean anything, they don't seem to show any signs of linking up because Willo desides to smash it out all the time instead of passing it, i know he's a no nonesense defender, but he takes it too far. He cannot pass unless he has a 10 second period in which to make the decision. He's good in the air but that's it.

    Harper

    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique

    Barton Ireland Guthrie Tiote Gutierrez

    Ameobi

4-5-1 because Man Utd would probably take a 4 man midfield apart Williamson is better than Taylor whos a pile of ****e.

I think the main aim is to stop Man Utd putting a dent in us so I'd put Barton in RM and Guthrie next to him with Tiote in the middle to nullify as much as possible.

I can see us struggling to break down the Man Utd defence with our current strike force.

Colo goes forward more and Willo stays back to cover and does an ok job at it. That's enough for me. Not everyone can ping a perfect 50 yard pass, and yes granted, maybe he should try and cut the element of trying to play the million dollar ball out his game, but I still prefer him to Taylor. Taylor is rash and a liabilty at times. Williamson is generally reliable to do a job, Bolton aside.

  12. I get what your saying,

how about a 4-4-1-1 with Shola upfront by himself? Ireland supporting Shola?

  15. It's not about pinging a 50 yard pass mate, he just cracks under pressure and kicks it out when there is a simple pass available to him. He gets caught up in the moment and goes into panic mode and lamps it into row Z.

Taylor is better and should start.

May well have to considering we've only got Shola as the 'big man' up front and we need to maintain a defensive shield starting from the half way line.

Basically attack with Shola, Ireland, Barton and Jonas.

Wouldn't exactly say Saylor is the king of composure under pressure either.
