I was thinking about this over the last couple of weeks since sven went. Surely Nige will only be with us for the rest of this season. I mean he doesnt have the transfer edge that sven did and as soon/if we go up the owners will just replace him with some "big name" and throw stupid amounts of money at the club.

From the point of a fan I am a little concerned that these owners are in it and using leicester as a project and if it fails they will just up sticks and leave us with the wage bill. meh maybe pesimistic thinking but everything they have done so far is to get what they want, premier league and global advertising!

I doubt the owners will sack him just after he gets promotion. They'll get enough marketing in the Premier League no matter who the manager is and I think it'd give them extremely bad press to sack a manager after doing so well. As long as Pearson does well, he's here to stay.

I hope that, even if he doesn't get promoted this season, he's given next season as well and not sacked at the end of the season and we're left searching for another manager. That said, I think Nigel will have wanted assurances that it isn't just a job until April if he was going to leave Hull.

This kind of speculation happened to Warnock last summer, but they've stuck with him.

IF we do go up, then i bet he'll have the 13 games Sven had to make sure we will stay up, if we're in 15th or above, i bet he will be kept.

But thats too far ahead, lets focus on this season <ok>

You say that but was sven really doing that badly, and in regards to keeping him when we go up you know the next thing they will want is champions league meaning they will want a manger with that european experience. I know im being pesimistic right now, and only time will tell, but I just have the feeling top is like a kid before christmas "daddy i want that and i want it now" :p

Anyway lets live for the moment and enjoy hopefully a quality season with nige at the helm! (Y)

I was disappointed that they sacked Sven - should have given him the whole season and then looked at it depending where we finished. Good point above - Nigel does not have the International reputation and 'pulling power' (no jokes please) that Sven had ... Beckham won't be calling Nige for a chat ...
