Win the FA Cup or promoted to the Premiership?
With our current form a playoff place is quite a possibility and you never know with this league, if the form continues, the dream could become a reality...So just for the record, Bristol City FA Cup winners or Bristol City promoted to the Premiership?....Your thoughts!!!

Obviously I want them both but with a reality check I decided promotion is the best deal because it takes care of the bank balance for several years. When I look at the under rated teams that have not only been there, but stayed there, it makes me wonder why not us?

FA Cup winners for me as that’s a trophy and will be in the history books forever.

Agreed - though the 'sensible' option would probably be promotion, what are the reasons we watch football for? A 2nd tier side winning the FA Cup would be particularly historical and we'd be in Europe to boot!

Bookies have us as 100/1 odds, which is probably still too short (the Leicester effect maybe?), whereas for promotion we're now at around 5/1. Exciting times!

It can also lead to grief! Get promoted and not ready for it, and I do not think we are … we are close! BUT NEED A LOT more.....
win the cup and hey ho that is something that will join the history books … even getting to WEMGLEE would be " a runners up cup" …..

One promotion could be easily forgotten, especially there's a chance we could come straight back down.....FA cup win from 2nd tier is in the history books forever...Having said that, the chances of us winning the cup, I would say to be very slim, where as promotion is a distinct possibility, so that's what we should concentrate on...IMO

The heart says win the FA Cup

The head says get promoted to the Premier League - not jus the great games, but the financial implications for the club would be massive

Despite all the possible negative issues that can be linked to promotion I still think I would go for promotion, but the F.A.Cup would look good in the trophy cabinet.

Promotion by a country mile fa cup final fantastic but a one of game, imagine Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and so on and we play each of them twice, now that's what dreams are made of.

Promotion for me. Cup would be nice, and I do get the view that cup would be something in the record books for eternity, but still would prefer promotion.

I also understand, and to a point agree with John, about being promoted before we’re ready , but there’s always that risk , get there first and then do everything possible to attempt to stay there.

If we then get relegated we will at least have the parachute payments to allow us to compete on a more level playing field with many other championship teams .

Win the FA Cup for me, promotion to the premiership would be great and all but the novelty would wear off pretty quickly me thinks when we lose most weeks and the only thing to play for is finishing 17th every season like most teams now, I still remember Wigan Athletic winning the FA Cup in 2013 and something like that will never be forgotten
