As you might know , rumours have been circulating that Joe Cole may join us in the summer.

Would you like him to join us? Would he take a wage cut?

Yes, but he has to take a pay-cut, we can't afford to pay 80k a week for a somewhat ''past it'' yet still good enough Winger/AM... but do we even need him?

Would've on a free if he agreed to the £50k wage cap. All depends on the price, he could certainly do a job for us, but with his reputation you could probably find someone who'd do a better job for less money.

Interesting one, I'd take him on a free if he agreed to the wage cap, he has quality but I dont think Liverpool suits him. Same sort of thing as the Ireland deal, he has quality too but is is off form and a lot of us wanted him.

It'll also depend on how Ireland performs and if we decide to buy him or not, because if we do get Ireland on a perm deal then buying Joe Cole would be very pointless because they are both Attacking Midfielders!

If we buy Ireland(this is if he regains his Man City form.. we can hope) then Joe Cole can stay at Liverpool and keep picking his wages until he retires for all I care.. if Ireland doesn't perform to a significant level then Cole might be a alternative but wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't get him, he's not getting any younger, he'll demand big wages and isn't the player he used to be, but on his day he can still perform at a high level.

No chance in Hell would I welcome him to us. He was a top class player but injury has wrecked havoc on him and he is not the player he used to be

Only if he'd swallow his pride and play for £30kpw. He was an amazing talent but he's totally ****ed up now (Michael Owen anyone?). His quality would be welcome but I worry about his ability to play at a constant standard, even at Chelsea he blew hot and cold.

Shame really, at one point I considered him better than Rooney for England. What happened?

Thats why I voted yes. He's still only 29 so in theory should have a couple of good seasons left in him. However I'm not really sure who he would replace. Next year I'd rather have Ben Arfa on the left over him and Joey on the right. Tiote is an obvious choice for CM and Nolan is our captain, and despite playing poorly sometimes we are much worse without him. He could play in the AM role if we play 4-4-1-1 though, him and Ben Arfa switching. Could cause some havoc <ok>.

Would need to accept our wage cap though - dont want him here just for the pay. Put him on 40k?

We probably wont get him though!

I like Joe Cole and always rated him. However it's strikers we need to be debating over, not more midfielders.

Also i hope Ireland comes good in this loan spell, he would be an awesome permanent addition if he shows his man city form- fingers corssed!

I really wouldn't as I don't think he's the player he used to be.

No, not impressed for Liverpool this year, and they've had better results since he's been injured. Plus we need strikers and defenders before midfielders and one who has struggled the last couple of years.
