In an earlier post on Sess's position I raised the possibility of Yakubu joining as one of the 'proven' strikers.

    Yakubu is 29 I believe.
He got lots of goals for a relegated team, more than our two top strikers got together.
If Connor is to develop he could gradually come on for Yak and in a year or two should be able to replace him.
Yakubu would only be one of two proven strikers so we could spend more on a better striker.

I'm not saying Yakubu is a great striker but he does seem to score plenty of goals and is a big strong type of forward, the type I think MON likes.

So then, he wouldn't cost much, he scores lots and he would see Connor's transition from occasional reserve to regular first teamer.

    What's not to like?

Think he would be a very good signing, certainly knows where the net is, good age . For me ticks all the boxes

He would infuriate our fans in my opinion, does not work hard off the ball and you know how our fans are with non-workers!

On the other hand he scores goals, to sum up....Would have him but not bothered if we dont, he wont be forst choice anyways

I would take him, Fletcher & bring back Kenwyne (likely available around £4million..)

That'd do me up top, with Connor on loan till Christmas, and Ji for the season.

Could do worse, but could do better. I pretty much go along with what 10th Place said too.

    Defo better than Heskey though!!

This is the reason why I would not have him, surely we only want players who we want to play at the club or we get excited about. If your not bothered if somebody doesn't sign then surely that's a No?

Depends on what the other options are, the key issue being how much will MoN be given to spend and what is available for that money, Yak might be the best we can expect, or perhaps we can afford more or less?

Ive read all the above and yes he is lazy but you cant buy goalscorers like him for next to nothing, even if only from the bench this guy would get us more goals than probably any of our players did this year.
