Gents, with the fire power will now have on the wings (including the back up cover with Nani & Park) I believe Cristiano is a lot better in the air an Wayne even been, with regards to scoring from headers etc.

This on top of they normally goal scoring record's, Ronaldo is heads above.

I know everyone will say Ronaldo will never come back to us now that his at Real etc, but after the out-cry from Rooney and his comments about our club. I don't believe SAF forgives that easy, Rooney will leave but only when SAF thinks its the right time & price for the club.

Me personally I loved it when we had: Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Ronaldo & Ole :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I would take that trade. Not sure Real Madrid would be so happy about it.

For me the difference is Ronaldo loved United. Rooney doesn't. And for that reason I would take Ronaldo over Rooney any day. Yes on the pitch Rooney will fight 100% no matter what, but for me what he said back in October was unforgiveable. Ronaldo has never ever had a bad word to say about United and even when he knew and we knew he was leaving he still gave his all to help us win the league.

    please

Ronaldo wanted a move to Real Madrid every season even before he won you his first title.

    He was a "slave".

Fair play to Fergie, every year after the "I want a move" leak to the press, he somehow managed to get him to stay.

Ronaldo is a better player, but with him its ' me me me'. Rooney is more of a team player. So I would take Rooney, just. I notice you have put Nani as a back up player, which I find interesting.

Yes well I think we all know SAF, is going to play Young and Valencia both will work harder an Nani is tracking back. Dont get me wrong I love Nani but sometimes he does my head in work rate wise.

I think SAF knows and values players like Park more an Nani, i.e Nani is very skillful (no question there) but does not kill himself for the team work rate wise. Park in my eyes has little ability but his work rate and love for the team is amazing.

Bottom line for me, someone like Park that gives his all with not the ability & skill of Nani & co, but will just happy run's & runs for the team chasing every ball means more to SAF, and I believe he valves this more, Valencia the same and just the fact we have just signed Young I think he'll stick with Valencia & Young more so an Nani.

All though he loves them, they're an embarrassent to him. Like your drunk father at a family gathering.

    Funniest thread ever <laugh>

I would Drive Ronny myself from Madrid to England and I would carry Rooney on my back all the way to Madrid. Seriously how an earth could you compare a player who scored 42 goals in England and 53 goals in spain to Rooney? Ronaldo is 10 times better and any sane person would swap him for Ronaldo. In fact it would actually be Rooney plus 45m for Ronaldo.

Does the name Rafa ring any bells?

And the point about whether Alonso loves Liverpool or not - His son was born in Liverpool and he takes him back regularly to watch games, and makes sure that he grows up a Liverpool fan. There is a great recent interview with Alonso about all that happened at Liverpool etc. Well worth a watch (although i understand you probably wont!). <ok>

Yet again you have proven you know nothing. A player's goals aren't the be all and end all. It's the impact they have on the team and when we had Ronaldo and Rooney, Rooney provided the bigger impact. You can't judge Ronaldo over Rooney just because of the goals as well because of the difference of standard of leagues they play in at the moment. Ironically, the season where Rooney fully had the shackles of Ronaldo off him, he scored 34 goals in that season.

And regarding whether or not a player "loves" a club, words are meaningless, as with most things in life. If your wife/husband/partner said they aren't happy in the relationship, it doesn't mean that they do not love you. And by saying they love you doesn't mean that they do. It's the actions that count and Rooney has shown that he does care about United.

If Alonso does take his kids to see Liverpool games, that is showing love. Not just saying it or not saying a bad word about the club either.

Personally I do believe that Ronaldo holds United in high regard and read somewhere recently that his "footballing friends" are the likes of Rio and Wes Brown.

Back to the OP, no I wouldn't swap one for the other. I'm sure this thread has been done before actually so I'll say the same again, I wouldn't take Ronaldo over Rooney, I think they would be most lethal as a duo.

It is interesting you (PHK_MUFC) have put Nani as a back up player. I doubt this will be the case but if it is, I really hope Nani leaves because he does not deserve to sit on the bench. He can do better than that and I really hope he leaves. Fans won't mind as we have Young now.

    Muffin McLovin

Please give it a rest. Ronaldo scores and out assists Rooney. But you don't want to listen. Rooney has never ever been in the top 3 players and never will. Ronaldo has won world player of the year and is a world class player. Rooney is not a world class player. He is a top player but not a world class player. Ronaldo every day of the week.

I can't be bothered to debate about this. It will just be more bias and rubbish. Rooney has shamed Man Utd's name and no one will ever forget his. " Utd lack ambition speech". Rooney is no where near as good as Ronaldo and most of the footballing world would agree with this. It is a ridiculous comparison and a very stupid one.
