Watching the Masters on Sky the other night, made me wonder if there was such a thing as a Leeds United seven a side team, that played indoors (suitable size location) against other teams such as Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Sheffield Wed, Sheffield Utd, Hull etc, would you go? The game would be 30 mins each way, with a ten minute break at half time, there would be no draws, so the game would go to penalties if the teams were even at the end of the game. The teams can change any player at anytime, but can only have a squad of eleven players at each game. The game never stops even for injuries, unless the ball goes out of the clear plastic fence and needs restarted as a kick in. The players would be made up of former players (35 - 50 years old). The home venue can play whatever music it likes during the game, although it can't be loud as to affect the players. There would be one ref (on the pitch) and two sideline refs (off the pitch). The game would be marketed towards families, so there no need for the "angry about everything" fan to go to let off steam (as it's a football match). There would be a league, so teams play week in and week out and the main aim is to be league champions. Each player must only be paid an agreed rate for playing, which all clubs must adhere to and can't go higher than. There would be cheerleaders and all the razzmatazz required. There would be a bar and food court and the games would not kick off until 7.30pm, so plenty of time to do other things during the day. It's purely a concept just now, but I wonder if it would catch on. Even if 3000 people attended on a regular basis, it could be financially viable and I'm sure Sky would be interested. Any thoughts?
as long as there is a ban on drunk fans trying to upset you, and dummies of KB suspended from the ceilings by his neck! ha ha ha
