You are an Everton supporter and this weekend a win or even a draw against Man City could ensure your nearest rivals (less than one mile from Goodison) get their first league title in twenty five years.

Would you want your team to LOSE?
Or would you be content that a team from your city will win the title over one from Manchester or London?

Definitely not!- Liverpool might lose anyway- Been in those situations before.

There was an interesting situation though recently where Hull were playing Arsenal in the league. Benefit to Hull of losing was that as long as Arsenal finished 4th above Everton, then they would be assured of European football, regardless of the outcome of the FA cup final result. If Arsenal finished 5th, then Hull could miss out if they lost in the Final-

I still doubt if many of the fans wanted them to lose until it was already too late.

No I wouldn't want my team to lose, although I'd love Liverpool to win the league this year, hope they do to be honest.

While I like Liverpool as a club, their fans are insufferable at the best of times. I'd probably be happier to see Man City win the league.

To answer the question, no team should go out to lose, but in a game where there is little to play for I'm more than happy to see youth or fringe players given a chance to shine.

Man City for me too although I do like Steven Gerrard and if he'd been England Captain instead of the idiot Beckham, or the chav Terry, then we might have been a taken a bit more seriously...
