In Rafa's only return to management after liverpool at Inter Milan, he failed lasting only 6 months (yes i know he won two competitions in the time, but they were perceived as unimportant) and does make you start to question his credentials. He speaks frequently about always loving Liverpool and wanting to finish what he started, but im not sure if the fans would ever be happy with him returning. His first couple of seasons were sublime, but his signings throughout his tenure were questionable and in 2009 we really struggled under him. When Dalglish retires (he probably wont ever be sacked) in possibly about 5 years time, would anyone like to see Rafa return to the helm?
No. He basically was Roberto Mancini without money, and isn't flexible enough to be a Liverpool manager. He is a good cup manager, and can get one-off results because it involves setting a style to outfox the opposition. Can he win the English league which all Liverpool fans want? I don't think so. He's either one or the other, its either cagey and rigid or free-flowing. Both work, both don't. He couldn't find a balance between the two. This is evidently what cost him the title in 2009. It definitely was not the non existent ''rant''. As far as I'm concerned he didn't ''rant'' as a ''Rant'' is a load of gibberish that makes little or no sense. Rafa was clear and concise, thus therefore not a rant. If Rafa ranted, then Ferguson did with his ''Contempt and beyond the pale'' speech. I believe Kenny is a better manager as he's found the balance between rigid and cagey and free-flowing.
