    Hi Guys,

Drogba has apparantly asked RDM if he can train with the Chelsea squad at the end of the year as the Chinese league season ends in November and the ACON doesnt start till January and he wants to stay fresh.

Anyway, the Chinese owner of Drogba and Anelkas team is apparantly threatening to pull all funding from the team due to some kind of dispute, if this were to happen, then Drogba would be released from his contract after Christmas.
My question is, would we take him back after the ACON, just for the last 15 games of the season. We are a little short upfront with just Torres and Sturridge as the only out and out Striker replacement.

Would be a great impact sub , or do you think it would be a step back?

NOOOOOO. As said before, we all love him and he's a complete legend but bringing him back would be wrong for two main reasons; we don't want to ruin the legacy he's left behind, he left on the highest note possible and we'll all remember his last kick for us as the kick that won our first European Cup. Secondly, our style of play is aiming to be different to just 'get it to Drogba!', the only way we can help Torres repay the £50m fee is to play the lad as much as possible.

I'd take Anelka though, for a right wing/back up striker option.

Im not saying as the main man like he was before, but would be a great impact sub to sling on with 20 minutes.
Obviously he would be free too. I know he went out on a huge high, but there is no one better we could get for free!

No. There's no point, Drogba is 36/37 ffs he don't like being a sub anyway which is one of the main reasons he left as he didn't want to play second fiddle, and in all honesty apart from the big games the last two years he wasn't that good, he only managed a few more goals than torres if you take the big games out and he done nothing in the league either.

We love him and his a legend because he done it when it mattered. But the reality is he was still average most of the time for the past 2 years. Can't keep replying on these old dogs either. I'd personally love us to let Terry and Lamps go at the end of the season and have Cech and Cole play back up to Courtios and Berty.

Sure Pep will think the same as well

    Definitely not.

One of the greatest players this club has ever had but his time is gone.

As much as we all love old Drogs, we have to look forward to a new phase in CFC's life! Torres must become our new Mr Magic up front!

That's like saying you need another striker because you only have 4 though. You play with 2 normally we play with 1.
If an emergency did occur then we have Moses/Piazon or i'm sure Hazard could play as a false #9.
No point in us getting Drog back because then it just delays the progress of the transition even further and delays Lukaku once again.
That's the main reason i don't think we went in for an out and out striker because if we did fair enough we'd have 3 this season but then we'd have 4 next season all vying for one place.

I dont believe that Sturridge is a long term striking option for us, still think he only remained because we couldnt get somebody in. If you believe many of the papers (which can be varied in truthfulness)

then we have been linked with already sealing a deal for Radamel Falcao, whether Torres goes the other way is a different proposition but would be great to have both and I wouldnt put it past the board, Roman watched first hand how good Falcao can be and we did have money set aside for Cavani or Hulk , who would cost the same as Falcao

Speaking of Hulk, apparently left for 32m pounds, if so Porto are a cheeky bunch

As much as a legend Drogba is. It's time to move on. We have a much better style of attacking football now with Torres, Mata, Hazard and Oscar.
