Just watching the Rugby League and heard the ref say to the Catalans (after a dodgy decision) that he would ONLY speak to the captain of their team and no other player should question either him or his touch judge.

Purely out of my curiosity, does anyone think this could work in football ?

Sorry Staines, I'm acting the eejit.

Yes I think its a great idea. Now I know Association is a different animal to Rugby and there's a culture where there's less respect for the referee but stricter rules with regards simulation and barracking the Ref can certainly be implemented.

To be honest though, I don't think players haranguing the Ref is the main problem. Its Managers. Whether it be at half time, full time or post game, some Managers act disgracefully towards referees. Ferguson is one and COLIN is another.

Stamping out that would be more imperative in my opinion Stainsey.
