You only need to go to Somerset Park on a wet and windy afternoon to watch the Honest Men play to see the trash been dealt out north of the border :) I say this and I support Scotland, hahaaha and thats a mixture of Championship/Lower Prem teams plus Naismith, Brown and McGregor. The entire thing stinks of stagnation as well

Ledley I would put in for sure. Matthews and Loovens definitely not, doubt if either would even make the bench.

Those are fair comments Dev, and as far as I'm concerned, I never intended this thread I started to focus specifically on the quality (or not) of Glasgow Celtic FC.

You seem to assume that many who have posted on here, me included, are intent on having a go at the club - that is not so.

It is the SPL and it's general standards that is being discussed. The fact is that those three players are generally playing against poorer opposition than they would experience in the English pyramid - I'm sorry if that offends you but it is a fact, not just an opinion.

The point I raised was that from our knowledge of the players when they were in our charge at Cardiff, and from what we have seen and heard since, what do CCFC posters think were the chances of them being included for our playoff game against West Ham on Thursday if they were here now.

You will never eradicate "own club bias", so let's just say that yours is no worse than ours.

Fair enough.

But i'll be watching you lot <whistle>

Fair question. Ledley will always be a hero. However, looking forwards...

In the interest of squad moral - We have our best TEAM ever. TEAM = Together Everyone Achieve More & together they are.
Personally I believe our boys have done amazingly well this season and I am not conviced that any of the past players would have shown the same commitment to the cause (well perhaps Ledley).

Then again, as they say, never go back - end of.

Matthews is the only one I am not sure about. If he kept developing he would have given the Silver Fox a run at times this year. Ledders would have been a great squad player if he had any passion left. Didn't have much when he walked out the door. Loovens, nah.

BTW, I think Celtic are mid table Prem to be fair.

I think you'll like this Dev - just saw it sickipedia...
