Credit where it's due Spurs have looked good this season so far. To be within a whisker of the Manc clubs is quite an achievement given their start. They aren't realistic title contenders and will drop off now they have to play some tough away games, can't really see them getting much out of City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Villa, Sunderland away etc. We should still finish above Spurs (just) but I would still have them as slight favourites atm to get top 4 ahead of Arsenal. As far as I understand our UEFA coefficient should be okay for next season but my worry is that a club of Spurs size entering a massive competition such as the CL could in time lead to our coefficient being lowered. The last thing we need is teams being bent over backwards and losing 5-0 on aggregate. Is there any danger of our coefficient being lowered with clubs like Spurs in the CL? Particularly with the Manc clubs having taken early exits out of the CL
I would be very careful about stating that they will fall away. We should just focus on getting 4th or possibly 3rd nailed for ourselves and let others get on with their business.
the bitterness grows! The co-efficient wasn't damaged by beating both Milan clubs and getting to the Qtr final. It's City you should be worrying about in that respect. You'll have to ensure you win it to keep the ranking up!
Cheers SW I wonder where that rancid, argumentative Norwegian nutsack has got to? Probably died of embarrassment
There was until recently, the feeling that we didn't really care about other teams results! The only thing that mattered, was the Blues result and the number of goals we scored! It feels eerie , now, having to keep an eye on both the Mancs, plus the Spuds, Gooners and even Liverpool now! Come on AVB! I wont have any fingernails left if this goes on much longer!
As ever, District is correct. Our national co-efficient would have suffered after England's biggest ever Champions League defeat, 5-0 v Real, last season. To answer, the slightly off-topic thread: if we are less than 8 points behind Spurs before the March 24 home game v Spuds, we can reel them in. We could be a lot closer than that anyway on Tottering day after Spurs play some tough away games in Jan/Feb. We have the better squad; but it is all about AVB instilling confidence and getting our own points on the board to pressurize those above us. Get our own house in order, then we can start looking at Spurs' results.
So our national co-efficient was damaged more by a heavy quarter final defeat than it was by 2 teams not even getting out of the group stage?
You incur extra penalty points for 1. failure to score in 180 mins 2. suffering a SPL style humiliation
Please pass on best wishes. We may not get along with Ensil but I for one wouldn't wish this kind of thing on anyone and I hope Ensil and his father are okay
Would wish you all the best Ensil and hope your father gets well but as it's you i suspect your bull-****ting, but do us a favour and keep stringing the lie on because then we won't have to keep reading your ****
