Seriously be that bad? We'd get rid of a load of shyte from our squad and suddenly find ourselves top 4 candidates where winning will suddenly become a regular and satisfying thing for us fans.
Downside we'll lose a shyte load of cash but let that be a lesson to Ellis for his past investment in the squad !

Yeah your right in some ways. As a stature of a club we should be top 10 in the Prem. The reality is were not so a step back to take a few forward might not be that bad? Correct me if I'm wrong but Im fecking sick of watching this shyte

Seems like we`ve had this same conversation for the last 3 seasons.

For me, the only way it would be of benefit is to get rid of the ****e, strengthen the squad and be straight back up.

As there is absolutely no guarantee of that, the answer has to be no.

Relegation is never the answer. Also, given the money that is due to be available from next season, it would be suicidal to go down. I'm panicking that we would be screwed for a very, very long time should the worst happen to us!

Exactly. Knowing us we would lose the best players and but the same sh!te ones on 3 year contracts and we are the same position but a division lower. Relegation never an option.

Due to the cash you are right mate. I've just well and truely spat my dummy out. There's more to life than supporting a team you expect to get beat ffs

Don't even think about it, relegation would be a disaster on absolutely every level.

Spot on mate. There is more to life. Trying (and failing) to locate a good woman at the moment which is consuming my time! Might go buy a Russian <laugh>

If we kept Big Sam and let him build his own team I think we could be okay in the long run, even after going down. Looking at how well teams like Watford, Southampton and Leicester have adapted to the PL after coming up, it's hardly like there's an unbridgeable gap.

That said, I'm probably coming to that conclusion because I've largely accepted that this is the season our luck runs out and we go down.

We're 1 win away from being out of the bottom 3, with a new manager & a window coming up and Newcastle to play again :emoticon-0105-wink:

Haha, ever the optimist mate! I liked the look of us going forward today but that defence is barely League One standard. We need Sheasy and Kaboul back as soon as possible.

There's no way we should be despondent on today's result. We got ripped apart in 7 minutes of defending madness, with a few of our defensive first team missing today.

Relegation is never, ever the answer. I don't believe for a second that we'll be relegated. Not now. Not just yet, anyway.

But, if we are relegated, I'm more than happy that we have Big Sam in place to get us back up into the PL. I just don't think that will be his remit next season.

In patches, we played some really great football today! Some of the passing and movement off the ball was just sublime.

And again, I mentioned this earlier about mags looking to shoot me down, I saw the same last week from them last week.

For me, it's paramount that both teams stay up this season, for the long-term good of the PL.

Scholes was talking about this the other week. About the loss of the great northern footballing powerhouses.

We have to stay up. And so do the mags!

I've wandered away from my starting point. That's Guinness for you.
