Could out of work Harry Redknapp take the reins? Bottom of the table, no wins in six, and out of the League Cup. It hasn't been an idea start to the season for QPR. Especially so as players were signed from Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United, clubs who are used to success. Ambitious QPR aim to follow them. Mark Hughes is a man under pressure, before the game odds on his sacking had been slashed from 10/1 to 4/1. Bookies are racing to cut them even further this morning after their 2-1 home defeat to West Ham. Players, manager, and some fans are urging for a 'time to gel', but as we mentioned yesterday, the Premier League is unforgiving, and the buzz a new manager can bring in can often transform results. But this is something Tony Fernandes tried last season with Hughes, which has so far yielded mixed results. But when out of work Harry Redknapp is waiting in the wings, can the owner resist the temptation not to fire and hire? Redknapp has gone from England manager in waiting to being out of work, after Tottenham dispatched him in favour of gambling on Andre Villas-Boas. It should be remembered that 'Arry took over Spurs in a similar position, they were also stuck on two points when he took over in the Autumn of 2008 after a similarly terrible start under Juande Ramos. However his management style is divisive among supporters, who question his tactical nous if not his man management skills. Nevertheless his energy and motivational skills could be just what this current QPR crop need right now. So do fans want it to happen? There's no quick fix. It's easy to get rid, get a new hairdo, new kit etc, but the world doesn't change. MH will learn the hard way, is learning the hard way. He will start to get the results we so desperately crave, but who knows when? Certainly not me.
Hughes has to go, way too defensive, doesn't react when Plan A is not working, we haven't won away under him, or at home this season. We stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season. Worst - I don't see him changing and improving things - he is just too cautious. If we keep with Hughes any longer it could easily get us relegated. Not sure about Harry, but this is an emergency and he has the nous and motivational skills to get our variety of stars performing, and keep us up. So Yes Harry, and the sooner the better before it's too f*kking late.
No to Harry at all! In the 23 years I've been supporting QPR, the only manager who has done a decent job in the Premier League with us was Gerry Francis. Also had 19 different managers in that time.
Not a time for knee jerk reactions, give Hughes until Christmas to turn it around.............. Is Harry Rednapp a long term solution at 64 !!!!!!!!! We need some stability otherwise we will go back to the dark days of 3-4 managers per season....... How about getting in a top defensive coach ?????????

I'd give Hughes at least another 5 games and to talk of sacking him now is ridiculous. After the last few years the last thing we need right now is yet another manager in! Glad to finally have a chairman with a bit of sense. Although Mourinho did say we was looking to come back to England...
No, he doesnt do tactics and relies on just buying a better team than the rest. We need someone who is able to outcoach and win against better teams. Poyet has done well at Brighton, theres Benitez as well. Absolutely no way. He is an East end barrow boy masquerading as a football manager. He is a Manager's equivalent of Paladini with his dodgy dealings. Lets stick with what we have for the moment.
Hughes until the end of the month. If he hasn't turned things around by then I doubt he ever will. Whatever anyones opinion on Redknapp the fact remains that he is a man motivator and seems to get the best out of players 'playing' for him. People talk of a knee jerk reaction. I don't see sacking Hughes as a knee jerk reaction given his record since he took over in January AND doubled with the money he has spent since then. If saving the club from going bust (yes I believe this could happen if we were resigned to relegation this year.) then im all for getting 'Arry in. Wasn't so long ago that eveybody was looking to him to lead our great nation. Instead they chose 'Woy.'
We'll take whatever we're given. Fans have no say in such things. All we can do is cross our fingers it all comes good sooner rather than later. Hughes needs to inject passion and have plenty of workable ideas. Atm it doesn't seem that he can manage such things. Great shame.
