I mean if a decent offer came in from another club, do we think he'd go? We're all aware of the lack of help he's receiving from the ****s and if any club decides they need a change, Nigel's the man in form and is probably on a **** contract. Would he do one?
We also have yet again a significant number of players who will be out of contract come Summer, more wholesale change? Confirms what the Allams themselves have said all along, they know nothing about football
If this is the case what are the alleged new owners actually buying? A couple of goal posts? This goes back to the daft lads statement of not selling anyone! He can’t sell players if they’re the only thing the newbies are getting for 40 mil ( or whatever)
I would if I was him. His contract will no doubt be ****e (not blaming the owners for once, Nige's stock was pretty low so would have accepted anything) so a longer deal with loads more cash he'll be away. Nige and his staff haven't moved here for a reason, they know football management is unstable.
he did well at scunthorpe and southampton but was denied a shot at the premier league with the latter, which was hardly fair after consecutive promotions. he won more than he lost at sheff u and was only 2 wins down at reading. his record here still isn't quite as good as anywhere else, either as win percentage or points percentage.
Or he might be of the persuasion to show a bit of loyalty to those who gave him another chance in management when he was over looked by every other club. Bit controversial perhaps but remind me how long he was out of work before City offered him a job, not forgetting he had been getting a bit of consultancy work from City to tide him over ? As for the 'lack of help' isn't being told he doesn't have to sell anyone considered as help ?
He's out of contract at the end of the season, where's the commitment and loyalty from the club, for someone who's currently working miracles?
How do we know he isn't being spoken to? Or nigel himself has said let's park it till the end of the season? If I was him I'd be saying that and waiting to see exactly where the club is end of season and look at what's best then
That was my question. I didn't suggest I know the answer. If pushed, I'd expect he'd go. The wrongs and rights are for another time. All I'll say though, money is money...
If he continues getting the results in and continues to build a winning squad on next too nothing, then will only be a matter of time till he gets an offers from other club's who are willing to back him financially in the transfer market, whether he goes or stays is another question which only he can answer, but as already been mentioned the Allam's need to sort him out contract wise quick or they may lose him.
Where to? The finances of a lot of championship clubs are a mess. He's not getting a pl gig. Is he. There aren't many jobs out there for him. Agree we should be sorting him a deal but who's to say we aren't in talks.
We might be in talks with him, but we're not even talking with the players who could sign a pre-contract with another club this month, so it seems unlikely.
There lies the problem. For as long as we carry the virus, who in there right mind will stay on the ward?
