I understand Bristol City would prefer to buy Jay Emmanuel-Thomas outright, and keep Paul Anderson. Clubs not close to a deal yet though.

also with us rejecting bids for Albert Adomah
could our line up be like this?

    Fielding
    Maloney Flint Williams Cunningham
    Elliott/Wnter Kelly
    Adomah . . . . .JET . . . . . Anderson
    Baldock/Davies

This team would rip League One apart...just will not happen though!

If that was the team then we should be crowned champions, that is some team above.

As BJA said unlikely to be the team though.

Imagine the SoD Doubters eating humble pie me thinks :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

If we could get JET on a outright purchase that would be some signing for league 1 <party>

That would be a great team, but why did you comment about SoD doubters RR, don't think anyone on here doubts him?

The game isn't won on paper though. For starters, we've never even seen Wynter or Williams play; they could be absolutely dire and result in us leaking goals.

Most of our club was at League 1 standard last season, and since we're still on a downer I think we'll struggle, even if we manage to keep that team. It'll all be down to SOD and how he can rally the troops for the first three months.

If we could shift Kilkenny Pearson and Fontaine from the wages bill it could happen but we would still need another Midfielder and Defender, perhaps on loan from a premiership side, and that is assuming that none of our players leave.

Kilkenny isn't going. Pearson should be shipped out just like foster is, hopefully fontaine like nyaclanga will think he's better than he is and demand to leave

But I think we would be more likely to play 3-4-3 5-4-1
    ...................................Fielding
    ..............Carey.............Flint.............Williams
    Moloney....................................................Cunningham
    ...................Kelly/Winter/Elliott/Reid (2 from)
    ......Adomah/Baldock.....JET.......Davies/Anderson

Keeping the ball mainly on the ground or over the heads of the defenders so we could use the pace of the front three but we would have to be basically an attacking team as I don't really see that sort of side grinding out 1-0's or 0-0's too often. Attack, fall back when they attack, then hit them on a fast break. we could have big defenders with their legs tied in knots trying to work out who to mark, can assure you I wouldn't have liked to be in a side facing another team with loads of pace up top. Only happened a couple of times and we had the best defence in the league but we got ripped apart both times.

I agree we are all pinning our hopes on some players none of us have seen, Villa's comments on Williams was good but that was based on one game. The same as some are pinning on JET we have only seen him play a few games against us when we have been the whipping boys for the past few years. When Cardiff fans state that he was with them for 6 months and he's got the ability but the worst player they have seen in terms of attitude and laziness, some of us are saying don't worry SoD will sort him out. I can remember similar comments regarding Kilkenny, now most of us would contribute towards paying him off.
I've said many times to be patient if we get to promotion or playoffs bonus but if not that is not a failure we are in a rebuilding process that will take time, to get to the Championship with a team to sustain us there not to bounce back and forth.

I have said before that I agree we need patience especially in the early part of the season but the team we are now building looks so much better than what we had so most of us are getting more optimistic with regard to JET few managers seem to have been able to decide what his best position is/was I looked back over reports on some of his games and he played all over the park from LB to CF so it's no wonder people didn't see him at his best yes that might be an attitude problem but if you get shifted from position to position constantly and get everyone moaning at you I can assure you you soon get completely pissed off and can't be bothered to play, been there done that, One season I played in all 11 shirts in the team under a new manager including in goal and it wasn't until the last match I was played in my normal position at RB and the manager said if you'd played like that for the whole season I would have kept you for next year. After he got up off the floor, after I'd hit him, as I was walking out of the door I said because you t**t I'm a right back
not a goalkeeper or leftwinger. Needless to say I never played for them again but Enfield Town had already said they wanted to sign me so I didn't give a toss.
