Would Rafa stay if he can't keep us up? We are at the end of the day quite deep in the poo so would by no means much of a reflection on the job he has done. I know he has a get out if we get relegated but from what I'm reading that doesn't necessarily mean he will take it up. It's there so he can exercise it if he his not happy with how things are at the club. If he stuck around and bought us back up I would personally think he was a legend. So would he stay or would he go?
I can't see us wanting to pay his wages in the championship. It might not even be down to him. Even if it was though, I suspect he'd move on. But the I suspected getting him in the first place was just a pipe dream.
I actually think Ashley would activate the clause ahead of Rafa. Too expensive. 9th highest paid manager in the World.
We need David Attenbrough not Rafa then http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/oct/16/david-attenborough-new-bbc-shows-wildlfe
We have to enjoy these 10 games with Rafa in charge. He is, without doubt, the best man we could have brought-in at this stage. Fact remains though that we still have the same players who have guided the club to 19th in the Premier League. If Rafa can get this bunch of work-shy chancers clear of relegation, then maybe I can believe in miracles!
There are a lot of ifs and buts.... But three things stand out....results on the pitch, his relationship with Ashley and his relationship with the toon army. Rafa could be as big as KK and Sir Bobby. Now that we have someone of his calibre, we need to keep him come what may.
He will drop the likes of Sissoko. The game tomorrow will be telling. If Sissoko plays his usual game he won't get in the side for the remainder of the season. One thing that Rafa doesn't tolerate is muppets that upset his game plans by not pulling their finger out.
Surely he'd only leave if he was given a better opportunity or salary at a club competing at a higher level. It's not like he's trying to get in the international squad and needs to be playing in the top flight! I reckon if you go down he'll be looking at the options for next season, money, players, then he'll decide to stay or go depending on whether he thinks your owner is being tight or fair.
I honestly can not see how with this squad, and that manager we can go down. Everyone seems to have there heads up, training if going well, be has been sitting with every player. I can't see us going down now. If we do, then I'm afraid Newcastle is finished.
