Would any club be a 'big' club without someone else's money at some point in their history? Or was United born a big club...
I know this is a wum, but I'll answer anyway. Obviously not. However the only way to compete at the top in modern day football is to have money. Frankly I don't care what any other fan thinks, some of the days out I've had because of Roman were unthinkable 20 years ago.
I view Leeds as a big club... and they are skint. Equally... the likes of Palace and Bournemouth I see as a 'small' club yet they are minted due to the PL money so it's probably a matter of personal opinion. Chelsea are recently a more successful club than, say Arsenal or Man Utd but I see them as the smaller of the 3.
They won the FA Cup, Euro cup winners cup and Super cup at the end of the 90's and qualified for the Champions League before Roman put in a penny. Question Would United be a big club without a foreign billionaires money?
Man Utd were one of, if not the wealthiest club on the planet before those American morons took over. We should be glad that they took over as their penny pinching allowed the rest to catch up to Utd.
Ernie smokes crack. He has no idea what day it is or why he often wakes up face down in a public bog with Big Reds number written on the back of his hand.
Wow, so football history starts when? Go look up Micheal Knighton and ask why such a massive rich club would beg someone like him to buy their club? United weren't even contenders during the 70's and 80's, unless it was for the 2nd division title, then your club had it's begging bowl out to anyone who said they had a few dollars, like the aforementioned Micheal 'keepie-up' Knighton. That fell through, then you sold to some foreign investors who pumped in the cash so you could buy the title. Oh, and if you want to dig about Chelsea's rise the real 'billionaire' architect of that was an English life-long Chelsea fan called Matthew Harding.
First of all, I'm not a Utd fan, my post makes that clear with the word 'we'. Secondly, calm down dear
