...Have been as successful in todays game? Both strong personailites, strict displinarians. But with player power out of control (Tevez being the prime example) Do you think they would have succeeded to the levels they did, in todays football?
Good question and almost impossible to know but in my opinion both incredibly talented and knowledgeable with an inate ability to manage and inspire the people around them. Had they grown up and gained their respective experiences in the modern era then I suspect both would still have risen to the very top and been equally successful I like to think so anyway.
easy answer yes... busby = less egotistical wenger. a player developer but one with result in mind and not too stubborn as to cost himserlf his job by not signing the players needed. Shankley = mourinho but far more about the team than himself.
When you think of the teams they put together and the football they played is todays better? I think not
