Would be interesting if we didn't take the lead!

It might be interesting to see how we react to going behind as we've scored first in the last 9 games.I would always rather us score first, but going behind might show us alot about our teams confidence and character.I for one think that we could react very well against almost anyone atm.Would be interesting to see though.

Shamrock scored first, which gave the team the kick up the backside they needed.
    Then again, so did Rubin...

Last season we gained a lot of points from conceding 1st.

I'd prefer to score first though.

It'll happen soon enough then we'll see. Last season we came from behind more than once to win. This team looks better than last season, so we should be able to do it again.

We've actually done it once this season in the EL, when Shamrock threatened to cause an upset.

    Whoops, repeated others' posts, apologies.

I'd prefer it if we scored first, second and third - you'd have to be Chelsea to make a bollocks of that!

That was a different team. We still don't know how our Prem team will react. I am calm about the prospect though.

I think we gained something ridiculous like 20+ points from losing positions last season.
I prefer this season's policy of just going ahead and staying there, frankly!

To be fair, I don't think scoring the first goal was ever against policy! It's good to see us coming out of the blocks raring to go these days, some of our first half performances last season were appalling.

I still don't think that we are making the most of scoring first though. We are not burying teams early enough and we are allowing them to come back at us. When we went behind to Bilbao in the pre season I thought the old habits hadn't gone away but they seem to have.

Haha, us Spurs fans make me laugh. We go on a winning run and we want to see what would happen when we go behind! I'm kinda with you, but i don't know why!

It wasn't a completely different team, there were a few 'first teamers' playing that night.

I think we're very much making the most of scoring first. 25 points from the last nine games is actually title-winning form over 38 games (a record-breaking 105 points to be exact).

We're doing brilliantly, superbly, amazingly when we're scoring first. It is surely our best ever run in the Prem, and one of our best ever in top flight English football.

GHoddle, don't please misunderstand. Do you think we should have scored more yesterday? Do you think we should have held on against Newcastle and beaten Wigan a while ago by more?

Hi TMT, I don't know if I'm misunderstanding you or not.

Whether I am or not, my point is this and I repeat.

'We're doing brilliantly, superbly, amazingly when we're scoring first. It is surely our best ever run in the Prem, and one of our best ever in top flight English football.'

I think just dropping two points in a 9 game run and that at St James', always a difficult place and particularly this season (has anyone won there yet in the Prem?), is incredible.

I'm not that bothered whether we beat Wigan, Villa or whoever by two goals or 6 goals, although of course the more the merrier. However, all that really matters is that we win and we win with style and playing good, clean football, which is exactly what we're doing.

Why some people people worry so much about goal difference is always beyond me. How many times is the Prem title or even 4th place settled by GD, barely ever. How may times is it settled by points? Regularly, consistently and indeed monotonously :)

Concentrate on the positive yes indeed but keep in mind the negative like the at least 3 easy chances that Ade missed giving us a much more impressive 5-0 than 2-0. But ok GHoddle points taken.

Ensil, did you listen to Harry after the match? He said the ones he scored were harder than the ones he missed. It was written on the match report too.

I'm sure that he's talking relatively, Ensil.

I think if you take a look at some of my other posts on other threads Ensil you will see that I have been f***ing positive as well. Why are you singling out that particular post about Ade missing simple chances with which everybody else yesterday agreed including commentators etc?. Yes PNP,I was being relative. I seem to have struck a nerve in Ensil who talks about others finding fault when that's all he does himself.
