Just read this ----
Female boxer withdraws from Canadian tournament after being told her rival was transgender with an HOUR'S notice, leaving her fearing for her safety (msn.com) The lady refusing the fight is described as a 'Doctor', bur whether she is a Doctor of Medicine, I don't know. Her reasons for withdrawing hint that she may be.
However, this story shows one way to clear up this overly PC mess, and
it's in the hands of the Athletes themselves.
If they, men and women, (but the Women will be most disadvantaged) will refuse to compete against people who have changed their gender, then the Sporting Authorities are going to have to introduce new classification rules.
Athletes compete against others who were born the same gender and those who have transitioned compete against other trans competitors.
Of course, I don't expect the prize money would be as tempting for, say, a tennis player, born male but competing as a trans woman, but that's not what it's about.
Apparently.
