So I was coming back to Arequipa from Lima on the bus on Sunday night, should normally take 16hrs. 6hrs south of Lima we got held up by road blocks created by striking miners! We then spent 24hrs waiting for a truce that allowed our bus through! Finally we arrived in Arequipa 42hrs after we left Lima! Oh and we had a 5km walk at 2am along the side of the Panamerican highway to catch up with our bus!!!! We have a team of 10 volunteers in Arequipa at the moment and I'm grateful they travelled a day earlier than me and got through no problems. RTID and Dave Rangers actually know one of the lads on the team, who it turns out is a hoops fan! Anyway, long and short of it is that I was pretty knackered on arrival on Tuesday afternoon and looking forward to feeling better after yesterday's game. Well, after 75 minutes I was ready to write another obituary for my beloved hoops, after 94 mins, I was in dreamland!!!!! Need to back it up with a performance at Sunderland now. Onwards and upwards, you Rssssssssssssssssssss
Hey Peruvian, how's it hanging? Lost voice this morning and don't mind telling you I cried (in a manly way of course) when our second went in! Electric atmosphere and it has been FAR TOO LONG since we've sung Hi Ho Silver Lining at the end of a match! Regards to out mutual friend.
