IMO Robert Koren looks a bit ineffective on the left wing so I just had a thought:

-Since the Play-Offs are all-but out of reach...
-I know Simpson has played well recently but I thought maybe we could drop him to the bench and play Koren as a second striker alongside Fryatt.
-This would give more chance of linking up the midfield and attack, which we have been missing all season.
-He has a creative mind and would be able to make more chances from nothing as well as bieng able to shoot (sometimes).
-And on the open LW spot, maybe we could give Amoo a proper chance 'cos so far he's only had like 10 mins to show some worth.
-When he scored against QPR he looked delighted, and I think he will be high in confidence after that. And he's shown when he gets a chance, he can score.

It is just a thought and if it didn't work, we could always bring Simpson/McLean on for Amoo and put Koren back on the left wing.

I think with a full pre-season behind him with NP Jay Simpson will be a huge player for us next season and will out score everyone on our team by a long way.

Haha, I forgot completely. I've made a right tit of myself! <laugh> Could try it in pre-season if Koren stays...

Cumbrian Tiger, I agree that with a full pre-season and finishing this season on a high. He could easily be top scorer though I wouldn't count out Fryatt he'll certainly bang a few in himself! But tbh I think Fryatt is a nailed-on starter next year and Nigel will probably sign another striker so I fear that Simpson may not get a fair shot... Only time will tell.

Think Simmo will be challenging hard for a starting role next year!

Agreed on Homer Jay, think he started to show what he was capable of over Christmas, and was perhaps unlucky to find himself on the bench from Jan onwards, still he's managed to find the net a few more times, and I think him and Fryatt upfront could do a very good job for us next year

I like Simpson, I always admired him in his Arsenal days. What I'd like to see him develop is a little more pace which he's seem to lose since he came to us from Arsenal. When I watched him play for them he seemed a lot more pacey and agile than he is now. With all that in hand he could become our new super sub?
