I always like to listen to what Brad has to say, and he's got some top stories here. What a career he's had, and it's great he's still going so well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ms-Brad-Friedel-exclusive-A-Glove-Story.html? I must admit I had my doubts about Brad because of his age, but so far so good. Keep it rolling, Bradster
He makes such a difference to us. If he had been around to boss our back 4 last year, fourth would have been a realistic prospect.
Yep Chirpy, agreed. Mind you the year before when we made 4th, Gomes was sensational and a key part of our success.
As you said, a good read. Friedel is a very important difference from last season. I haven't seen much of the Spurs games so far this season but when I have his assurance in the area stands out.
Hi Spurf, yep he brings a calmness to the side. Mind you, he gets a lot easier ride from the media than Gomes. I guarantee Gomes would have got stick for carrying the ball over the line for Toon's first, and the second may have seen the usual 'the keeper has to wonder if he could have done better, blah, blah'. Whereas in actual fact few keepers in the world could have saved it, but if anyone could or even get close to it, Gomes would be among the favourites. But overall, Brad has done well, I tend to like the Americans who play over here, they seem refreshingly articulate and intelligent, and on the pitch Brad is well worth his place.
Ironically, Heurelho Gomes is the only one of our three first team goalkeepers who has yet to concede a goal so far this season. Gomes has gone 300 minutes without conceding, while Friedel has conceded a goal for every 55 minutes he's played. Just goes to show you shouldn't only rely on stats, I suppose?
fair comments 6061 - but the media have decided Gomes is guilty before any and every trial, but ATM I stiil back Brad to be no. 1
