Another thread has prompted me to post this poll - just for fun!

Who do you think is the worst signing we have made since the start of the Liebherr/Cortese era (The 2009/10 season to present)?

Tough one because some poor signings have had their moment in our climb....yes, even de Ridder. Forte isn't good enough for us, but remember his two important goals!! Bignall, N'guessan and Falque were scarcely used, so presumably they were the worse. I've voted for Bignall, because I don't even remember him!

    That was a joke FYI.

Just thought I'd say that so no-one takes it seriously.

If Mayuka carries on not being used (and disappointing when he eventually is) then him, but it's too early to say. I'll have to go De Ridder, because he was used regularly but was terrible. The likes of Bignall, Falque and N'Guessan were confusing from how scarcely they were used, but they didn't do enough bad to be bad signings.

I knew everyone would say de Ridder, and sure, he wasn't the best signing, but saying he's the worst is really showing a lack of imagination.

Jon Otsemobor anyone? What about Mayuka? Cost three times what De Ridder did and he's barely played at all.

No, that's what De Ridder has every time he's on the ball. Run down the line, cut back inside, cut back again and get tackled.

Even so, he made a tangible (albeit small) contribution to our promotion last season. There are many others who have not done as much.

Is it really fair to put Martin, Lee & De Ridder on there, when they all played a part in our promotion, when we had signings like Jon Otsemobor and James Shea who did nothing!?

True, his goal at Reading was very good and it got us a crucial point.

Steve de Ridder was signed as a first team replacement imo, whereas Mayuka, Tadanari Lee, and Ryan Dickson were signed to provide competition. De Ridder was alright but didn't fulfill his expacations, ryan dickson and tadanari lee were alright but not much was expected from a free transfer and a player signed from the same league.

I don't think there have been too many poor signings, right now Forren would be my worst signing as he hasn't featured despite being at the club for months.

Yes. Steve De Ridder was a far worse signing than James Shea, because De Ridder detrimented our team. James Shea was brought in as emergency cover, hardly bringing in someone with first team expectations only for him to be spaff. That's one of the seasons Mayuka is very close to being there for me.

    Surprised you didn't mention Seaborne?

The fact James Shea was sent back after 2 games on the bench and we went with Forecast for a few weeks kinda says it all.

Not mentioning Seaborne for the exact reason I was saying Martin & co didn't deserve to be named - he played a part in our promotion.
