Until now, our home performances have been good this calender year and when we have needed results we have managed to produce them. As a team today we were absolutely terrible and this represents the nightmare scenario; our awful away home has now spread to home and I am going to by and large stay away from these forums for this week because I can see it getting really nasty around here with lots of falling outs. Ruddy had a decent game, without him it could have much worse. Snodgrass final ball wasn't great but at least he did look like he was performing towards the upper end of his ability. Olsson, Elmander and Martin were at least mediocre and not bad. Hoolahan was useless today, I do have to wonder if we had started Redmond today would we maybe have played a little better? Are we down now? Right now I should imagine 'where are the next points coming from?' is the question on most City supporters minds with games against title contenders Liverpool and Chelsea, an Arsenal side fighting to keep Everton at bay for fourth, a resurgent United side and a visit to a bogey team. It is very difficult to see us inflicting a first home defeat for Jose at Chelsea or shutting out Liverpool. United have conspired to lose some games you'd have never thought they would but at home against a side that has yet to get a point away from home in 2014 it is very hard to see them slipping up. So our only real chances, which are very slim, is to beat Fullham (yes, win an away game against Fullham of all teams) who have been woeful this season or to beat Arsenal at home. It is sure going to be a very nervous end to the season but Cardiff and Fullham still have to win games and Sunderland have a awful run. However if Sunderland win their games in hand then we are in the drop zone. It is going to be very, very tight but at least now the players know full well what they have to do! My final thought is that this represents the end of Hughton's tenure beyond this season. I feel that this result has done irreparable damage to his standing with the majority of supporters.
Not worried about Sunderland or their games in hand, it's Fulham who will swap places with us in due course, on the assumption they beat us next week
Yes. They have home games against a Hull team who will be safe and thinking about the FA Cup and a Palace team who will be safe and partying.
