= Me Seriousy I must have only posted on here about 5 time in the last two years. Couple of questions. Where's Blue Baldee and does Chris ever post anymore? Anyhow I'm lurking in the background if anyone needs some horrible bastard to wade in, at least until I can persuade The Captain to take his Mod role back. UTG RTID .x.
No idea where bluebaldee is. Nor Chris. Nor p49 (another mod). Nor about 95% of the rest of our members I wish everyone was still around. Not just now and then but like how it was on bbc606. But I think I fooked it up when I was mod trying to make this place more appealing to get more people to join. I ended up pushing away the regulars. This as a result (among other reasons) is why I wont go back to being a mod again. Im a follower and not a leader
I think reading Gaschat and Twitter over this season has really put me off coming on forums and supporting Rovers in general all I ever read nowadays is Gasheads constant attacks on each over for just having an opinion I just get disillusioned with it Chris still goes to games but he just doesn't bother with the forums anymore I think he misses the banter of the old 606 forum p49 goes on Gaschat now not sure why though I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.
The hazards of social media my friend and forums, every **** has an opinion which is fine but they tend to drift from one extreme to another. Lose 2 games and there's a clamor of DC out, put a few decent results together and he's back to being one place behind God. I almost punched some little **** in the pub a few weeks back, moaning like ****, his expectations seem to be we should be in the ****ing champions league in 5 years ffs. If people like that had stood on the terrace next to me and just over 2k other die hards years ago at Twerton watching us get beat by Gillingham in the paint pot cup, they might have a different outlook.
Every football fan in the country would like their team to be in the financial position of Man City, Chelsea and enjoy European football every season like the top 6 Premier teams do each season, but those of us that are realistic know it is never going to happen, especially now The Premier League have created such a gulf between the 'elite' and the rest of us plebs in the lower regions. What some people need to accept is that for a team like us, a good performance on a Saturday and 3 points won is as good as its going to get most of the time. Yes we will get the odd big cup game to enjoy, the occasional promotion push and sadly, the worry of a relegation dogfight sometimes or an embarrassing televised early cup exit to a part time team of bakers, milkmen and farmers. That's how it is and how it will remain - its as simple as that! We may or may not one day move to a new ground but even if it happens, our fortunes wont change overnight and things will be exactly as they are now, albeit in a different stadium. As CJS said, after being roughed up at Eastville in the past, endured some truly awful games at Twerton, watched Mansfield condemn us to non - league football, where we are now and the situation the club is in, is paramount to us winning the Champions League compared to what we had a few years ago. Its good to be ambitious for your team but realism and acceptance of our limitations are equally as important.
