Always thought that was Mikel and thought Nando was just worst Chelsea striker.. Now it is official - Nando is the worst player also.. When will he learn to shoot against the gaping goal than aim at the goal keeper?? He can't out run Derry/ Nelsen?? There is no need for Rafa out - because Nando will ensure Rafa is out !! This utter performance just added few grands & some to Ba's weekly wages!! Does this mean Rafa is a Dopey?? And come-on you don't need Juan & Eden to beat this hapless QPR.. It is not Rafa's team selection, it is just his striker selection.. Put Mikel up front all alone and he will get something!!
yep. just what I thought - well the nando bit, I disagree abot Mikel - We'll pay more for a striker now.
No need for panic. A team of QPR's standard can have at least one result to be happy about this season. Certain the won't be back to repeat it. However we definitely cannot win the title now. Hope we go for the cups with genuine ambition. What I will say though, is yet again, Torres shot at the keeper when any clinical striker would have scored. You don't have to be in the game for all 90 minutes to be a good striker; it's just that one moment when you can get a goal that matters, and yet again, Fernando doesn't deliver. I genuinely think he is the worst striker we have ever had if you take everything into account. I also disagree with Mikel being our worst player btw. He may slow us down but at least he doesn't cost us games.
Torres was *hite again. Ivanovic (who I rate as an unsung hero usually) was *hite. Frank was *hite apart from his O/S goal. Marin was a joke and was lucky to stay on. Az' - FFS fella, quit the silly dives you are an ok player. Luiz - looked lost. Cahill was good, Turnbull was pretty much out of the match. Oscar looked sharp-ish. Mata was v.good but coming on with <15 mins to go was absurd. RAFA - you were a complete PLONKER today. Never underestimate ANY team again even if they are propping up the division. You lost us the game and a lot of ground in the popularity stakes too. Right - FA Cup here we come.
Torres was the worst player tonight, followed closely by Marin. Torres will never come good for us. It's time we all accepted that and moved him on.
come-on.. Marin was just little anxious for a player starting his first league game. Had been a Manure player that wouldn't have been a yellow.. after all it was single leg challenge with the second leg nowhere near Mbia.. however that (almost) assist to Moses' toes was a decent run.. And this thread was not about TONIGHT FFS!!
If you want to go through the team then here we go: Turnbull - surprised no one has mentioned how far he was off his line for their goal? I seem to feel Cech would have that, but maybe that's unfair. Bertrand - you're not Cole, and frankly you never will be. I think he's lucky Van Aanholt is on loan tbh. Cahill - beast Ivanovic - practice shooting on the training ground not in match circumstances. Azpi - barring some ridiculous diving, decent game. Lampard - anonymous. Luiz - anonymous as well - though did (ironically) defend very well. Marin - despite the fact he should have been off, he came into the game reasonably well at the half hour mark. Oscar - isn't experienced enough to carry the creative burden by himself yet Moses - never really got anything going on Torres - missed another chance by shooting at the goalie......what can I say? Oh yeah, worst player in the squad.
The thing is Hazard, Mata and Ramires are three of our most vibrant penetrating players, and he played neither of them, no width despite having two supposedly natural wide players. Did Rafa not watch Liverpool beat QPR Sterling and Downing didnt do much in the game for Liverpool, but they stayed wide, occupied the full backs and let Suarez and the oncoming midfielder only have Hill and Nelsen to take on. But Moses and Marin kept coming inside and that helped QPR to have four defenders centrally forming together to block out all the paths to goal. Simple tactics that could have offered us at least a decent shooting chance And Branislav Ivanovic, 3 shots from long distance, really?? Rafa waited too long, 2 of the three who came on should have came on at half time. Mata should be starting every game for Chelsea regardless. Resting is not an option in a London derby regardless of where the team lies
Indeed, Rafa was guilty here, but in fairness to him, the team that we played was not bad. Just embarrassing to be honest.
That is perfect to me pretty much for everyone.. Agree Turnbull is not good enough to be Cech's replacement.. Turnbull is just as good as Hilario and Hilario is no good! I guess we are the only top 7/8 team with no proper backup keeper..
Don't think Turnbull did anything too wrong, the ball went past a lot of defenders before it got near Turnbull. Bertrand also didn't do too bad. It takes time to get the defending sorted when you're last line. Just needs more experience. Good kid. Cahill, has been very ordinary recently, but good tonight. Ivanovich for me is a right back. Azpi, steady, but has not yet done anything out of the ordinary. Needs a kick up the ring for his diving . Lampard, cannot go the pace when played in back to back games. At his slowest and worst tonight after a great game last start. Luiz, looked in vain for someone to pass to most of the game, and so looked worse than he was. Needs Mata, Hazard or someone with better positioning than the players in front of him last night. Cleaned up quite a few mistakes from those behind him as well. Marin, started stupidly got better as he settled in. A couple of flashes of skill to get crosses in behind defenders our other attackers couldn't pass. A plus from me, but work in progress. Oscar needs a steading presence to play with i.e. Mata, Hazard or Rami. Can't do it alone yet. Moses for me is just not good enough. Hope he proves me wrong. Remembering it sometimes takes a season to settle in , a la Drogba, Lampard. Torres is a basketcase and has had his chips for me. It is in everyones interests, including his, to move somewhere without the pressure that RAs' personal involvement brings to the whole team.
Did you see when Ivanovic took another skied shot? He looked at Benitez and said something like "I can't pass if he doesn't move". Telling isn't it?
Come to think of it you guys would have been in trouble if Ivanovic and Cahill didn't resort to taking matters into their own hands so often this season.
Guess out of all the outfielders in England, Torres would have played the most minutes.. Even when he is at his freshest moment, he struggles for Confident.. But have to give that benefit of doubt about his latest abject performance!
It's so frustrating watching Torres when he tries to hold the ball up the ball just bounces off him and also as he backs in to his marker using his strength he concedes a needless freekick.
when ever he got the ball i thought here we go, another attack over !! and when your front man is that inspiring you know you have problems
Not since Ade Akinbiyi has there been a worse striker in the PL IMO (as a Chelsea player). Heskey was slated and rightly so but at least he could hold up the ball, Torres can't even do that and doesn't even have a first touch
