We've had threads asking fans who they think the best players of the current campaign have been, well now let's ask who you guys think the worst players of the season have been? I'll have to start with Ramsey, a very poor and disappointing season from him, was expecting big things from him this year, but it's one to forget for him, he hasn't scored much, and hasn't created much neither. Hopefully this is a one off season and not a continuing trend with him, we may potentially have found our new Denilson if he keeps this up. Arshavin was dreadful as well before being shipped out, how he managed to stay ahead of the likes of OXO, Rosicky, and even Benayoun out on the wing is truly baffling! I gotta put Gervino in there too, he had some bright spots before going off to the ACN, though nothing really THAT special, and ever since he's been back he's just been nowhere to be seen, at this point in time, he looks to have been a poor signing compared to Mata, whom we were after as well. Ramsey and Gervino need to HEAVILY pick up their games for the next campaign if we are expected to realistically challenge for titles, because the sh!t performances they have been giving us ain't going to cut it if we want to win actual silverware, because that IS WHAT WE WANT, silverware.
We don't possess the quality to realistically challenge next season. We need new blood. Ramsey has had a poor season. Gervinho is a squad player at best. Merte hasn't settled in yet, nor has Santos. Walcott will never be consistent enough. Song is not good enough and neither is Gibbs.
Ramsey He's ****, no wait... he's great. No hang on, he's ****, but when he get's back to his best, I'll claim that he was great all along ......
- Ramsey has been bad, got enough play time to improve, he didn't. - Arshavin was bad, but didn't get enough play time to improve. (compared to Ramsey) - Chamakh. Didn't get many games, but when he did play he showed absolutely nothing to make Wenger consider changing the formation, or play him against weaker sides. - Our left-backs demonstrated (yet another season) that they are defensively sub-par. - Walcott doesn't deserve a secure starting place IMO, but he wasn't as anonymous as he can be. He still could as well not be there in well contested matches (Wigan yet another example). - Vermaelen has probably made more defensive lapses than Kos. + Mert combined (not only when he filled in as LB). We shouldn't judge him by the goals, so I think this was a bad season for him overall. If not for the terrible start and playing without fullbacks for a considerable part of the season, we were pretty decent as a team though.
If we're going on playing time, then surely Ramsey has to be the worst? He's featured in the vast majority og games this season, and has contributed sod all, whilst destroying the rhythm of the team in numerous games. Aside from a couple of decent performance earlier in the season, he's been dreadful.
Piskie or Jayram win hands down. One is too optimistic, even if we lose 8-2, the other is too negative, even if we win 7-0.
I reckon PISKIE has been one of the only ones on here to actually get it right. When loads of people were saying we were **** and would finish outside the top 4, he was the only one telling people not to panic and look at what we needed to do to put things right. Jayram on the other hand was acting like he was having a ****ing nervous breakdown. Having said that, they've both made some interesting points and they certainly get a good debate going.
Interesting. For someone who barely spends any time on here, you seem to have a very high and detailed opinion on Piskie and you seem to have conjured up an ''educated'' opinion on Jayram, particularly for somebody who has only posted on here 80 times in the last 17 months and doesn't log on here very much. Now. Surely you couldn't have another account on here.... Could you? (If anyone wants to know why I have resurrected this old thread, since Joe Harts Dance Instructor resurrected an old thread about Nasri and Man City, I was actually looking through some old ones too - seem to have stumbled upon this).
