Hello lads, just back of me jollies to see that that Alexander Doni from Roma turned us down due to the pay we were offering. Now as a 2nd gk obviously we didnt want to be adding to our huge wage bill but this comes on the back of Sylvain Marveaux saying our offer for his wages were to low. We obviously have a plan and maybe this Sylvain came into the category of a C player so was being offered C players wages or something?
I doubt we'd have ever seen Doni play a premier league game so why should he be paid any more then what we already have? I reckon Marveaux tried to up his demands when he found out two clubs were interested and if he has that attitude then i'm glad we didn't sign him. I think we should look to the transfers of Carroll & Suarez to see that if the player is good enough then we will pay the demanded wage
Because we appear to have been splashing the cash a bit I think people just try it on. If the only thing they're worried about is their wages then we don't want them in my opinion.
With respect to Marveaux, my sports reporter said the personal terms stuff was a smokescreen for the vact he failed the medcal. Even if not, I agree with the earlier posts, in that we don't want mercenaries here, and that certainly includes back-up goalies! Sod 'em!!!
Liverpool probably offered Doni a low wage as he says. Reason is obvious, his only going to be second-choice. We must have offered him a appearance bonus that would of got him back onto/or higher his normal wage. He knows he wouldn't be playing much and could of at least had the decency to reject it because of that, instead he publicly admits that even though he was warming the bench he still wanted a weekly wage which takes some people more than a year to earn. Sickening footballers, he expects us to sympathise with him and the cheek to say 'I don't want to give money away'. Marveaux, it could be he failed a medical, but if he says its personal terms it really again is more embarrasing, a case of players being motivated by money, ridiculous. Like someone said, the players that will be expected to play week in, week out like Suarez and Carroll King Kenny and Commoli will offer a wage rise if anything.
He said, "Having given a knee for Roma's cause, I am unwilling to give away money." So he's got a dodgy knee. **** off, Hopalong.
That says it all then mate If KK and FSG think its worth doing that with them, then more cash will be stumped up Im relieved to see though that we are not just giving what ppl ask for, as we have done in the past only for things to not work out Do you think KK would have given J Cole a chance? Yes ZE liverbird, they are stuck up their own ass
I heard it was Marveaux's attitude that put us off him - just a rumour around Liverpool but would like to believe it - we don't want merc's or disruptive players thanks.
