Lots of quotes from Celino on Twitter, but 2 very worrying quotes here that confirm our worst fears ...

    Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 16m
#lufc Cellino : "The people who ran the club, they didn’t do it on purpose, but they didn’t know anything about soccer."

    Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 20m
#lufc Cellino: "The club has nothing else. They sold their stadium, their banqueting, training station, they own nothing..."

    True on both accounts.

If we are honest with ourselves, the only assetts we have are the players, and some goodwill

First one Jock, I agree with. Unfortunately, that seems ot lump Haigh in with them, suggesting he wouldn't have lasted long under MC. Then again, MC didn't know much about english soccer when he tried to sack the manager before being the owner. The guy has made many Bates-esque decisions - including losing an important court case. Maybe pride is his main problem, rather than knowledgeable expediency.

Second one was the result of Ridsdale's profligacy, and over a decade later, we are no nearer. If I wasn't so damned optimistic about the future all the time, I'd be comparing us to Pompey.

Onwards and upwards - who's next to screw us over?

Best fans in the world, but the players are the financial assets, and without them, there would be no fans

There won't be too many left soon, we have no new supporters coming through, well not enough, kids want to support successful teams and trendy teams. My mate over the road supports Leeds, he is devastated as his son who as a kid wore a Leeds shirt now supports Chelsea.

Yes there will be a few die hard fans who take their lads to matches and those lads will grow up supporting Leeds but another 10 years outside the premier league and we would be lucky to ever fill Elland Road again as things stand.

The football league has a lot to answer for. They let Indians, Malaysians who haven't got a clue about football buy clubs. But then throw the book at Cellino a man who already owes a club in a proper league. Whether he is the right man for us remains to be seen. But with clowns we have running the club like rudderless ship, what choice we have?

Although I don't want Cellino to takeover in the slightest I still agree with your comment. They have never been so thorough with anyone else and you compare with not only some of our previous owners but also other owners in this very league over the past few years including this one and its ridiculous, some people have no clue yet they are allowed to takeover and then they ruin the clubs they're running. At the very least I hope we are not the only publicised case of this over the next few years.

I understand why the FL said no but then you get people like Ridsdale who ruined how many clubs? I think this time with us they were probably smarting over Bates and previous ownership issues. They were always going to look deeper this time.
