Guys, i am starting to get worried that all these off field problems will directly affect the team once the season starts. We have all seen several examples where board room antics have affected the team and results. Liverpool last year is the latest example. Worse still i am worried that NW's head will be spinning and that he wont be able to concentrate on his job. With such a relatively decent start to the season, we need to hit the ground running and winning and all the background rubbish needs to go away.

Cerney, i'm sure you are a nice guy, but now you seem to have changed track mid-stream. It was definately Mordy last week and yet Fernandez has actually met NW. I cant make any sense out of any of this. If Fernandez was brought in by the two muppets for PR reasons so they can ease into the background because of the obvious and open dislike of them by the fans, then this adds no great value or way forward for our club. At best he might give us some short-term investment, but he does not have the resources for long-term investment. The little i know suggests that Mordy and Mittal dislike each other, so even if Mordy is well hidden behind all of this, and buys the muppets shares, i cant see how it would be good for the club when our two largest shareholders dislike each other. Youre prediction although interesting leaves far too many questions unanswered. :emoticon-0149-no:

I don't think that Liverpool's problems were down to players worrying their pretty little heads about what goes on in the boardroom. The problems there was more to do with the relationship between the manager and the players. As soon as a new manager turned up, one who was more of a hero in the fans' eyes that any of the current players, they knew that they would have to knuckle down and start to perform.

That is something that we need not worry about, (I hope). No matter who is on the board, they know that Warnock is the man for the job at the moment. A string of bad results might change that, of course, but the team respect him and he is probably one of the few that can get the best out of Adel. If they sack Warnock expect tantrums from Adel and a quick departure in the next available window.

I think that you will find that Warnock knows a lot about what is going on and always has done - and not just when Bhatia was in charge of day to day matters. He seems pleased with the prospect of Fernandes taking a majority share. I hope the rumours about a few million quid to spend are true.

A bad string of results could see Warnock shown the door, but with the exception of the Wengers and Fergusons of this world (and a handful of others), it is the same for most premiership managers.

I would have thought that there may have been more unrest within the camp at the prospect of yet more players coming in and probably sidelining many of those who brought the team up from the championship. I bet there was a collective sigh of relief when the rumour about Mittal making £50m available for transfers was knocked on the head.

I am still convinced that the lack of money for transfers had more to do with making the balance sheet look good to a potential buyer than trying to skim cash into the board's pockets. They will make far more money from a sale than by running the club into the ground.

If the rumour is correct that the Taarabt sale was only halted because Fernandes made noises about not buying if the star player was sold, then I cannot see how he would then tow the line and become Briatore and Ecclestone's puppet.

The Mittal interest is dead. He bought in, tried to takeover, was blown off and now wants out - maybe to try elsewhere, maybe not.

The idea that Mittal and this Russian, Mordy whatsiname, have any joint interest, as some have suggested on other threads, is quite ludicrous. These two are rivals, bitter rivals, in the global business world of steel.

Whatever happens I think that we are in a much better position than we were in May when the Mittal bid was finally laid to rest. He wants to sell his shares. It would be interesting to see what price he puts on his 30%. It will also be interesting to see if he does sell out to the same buyer as takes the Ecclestone shares, or decides to try and sell to yet another third party.

Mittal is worth billions and could have injected £150m into the club without really denting his personal wealth, however most Premiership teams survive without regular sugar-daddy type, multi-million pound, cash injections or hundreds of millions in loans. This is something that we have to try and do. We are NOT Manchester United with an incredibly large fan base of plastics from around the world who would buy turds if they were painted red and had the MU crest on them.

I just hope that if there is a poor start to the season it is not blamed on what is going on behind the scenes. I don't think that it bothers the players that much. It would merely be an excuse for poor player performance or manager tactics/team selection.
