Didn't seem interested today and it was a poor show by him. I hope his head hasn't been turned! McClean (the Derry wizard) on the other hand is a star in the making if managed right and thank god Martin ONeill is in charge of doing it. I thought we showed them abit to much respect in the first half and sat to deep but put in a solid workman like preformance in the 2nd half and looked as if we could of went up another couple of gears if we wanted to. Overall job done and I thought McClean should of got MOTM.
was up front with mcclean and larsson and made to be the main striker, every fan knows he isnt one plus he was getting hoof balls against people at least a foot taller than him not many people would be interested
Playing the long ball up to a midget wasn't gonna bring his strengths out on show really. Glad we won quite comfortably without getting out of 2nd gear, 3 wins in a week is great. I'm gonna enjoy it.
Martin probably thanked him for a tough job today, you can't ignore him upfront, however it was dissapointing that all our balls top him were in the air, he was never gonna win those challenges against Bennett and Zukani (sp?) Still, he'll be on fire against chelsea, mark my words
I thought he just looked a bit tired if anything. It's been a tough xmas programme. A weeks rest will do him good
Sess just had an off day dont read too much into it. He's been quality all season he's allowed to have a day off, and to be fair playing a lone striker role doesnt suit him, and probably frustrate's the life out of him!! Look on the bright side, the whole country was watching, his performance might have put off a few managers
Whenever I've seen him play well (Bruce's last few games I thought he was stand out) he's been best dropping deeper to receive the ball and get attacking moves started - didn't get a chance to do that today!
