http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/.../top-100-footballers-in-the-world-interactive The guardian writers have been putting up their top 100 footballers in the world over the past week, but have yet to reveal their top ten. I am bored so, I just I would do my top ten. Very subjective thread, and it's just a bit of fun. 1. Lionel Messi 2. Andres Iniesta 3. Cristiano Ronaldo 4. Robin Van Persie 5. Xavi Hernandez 6. Thiago Silva 7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic 8. Radamel Falcao 9. Franck Ribery 10. Bastian Schweinsteiger
1. Perry Groves 2. Perry Groves 3. Perry Groves 4. Perry Groves 5. Perry Groves 6. Perry Groves 7. Perry Groves 8. Perry Groves 9. Perry Groves 10.Perry Groves 11-100 Perry Groves
Number 85 - Emmanuel Mayuka, a striker who has 6 appearances for Saints this season is apparently better than Pastore (89), Dembele (91), Nasri (93) and Sneijder (95)
If it was Sky I'd expect 8 of the 10 to be United but as its a reasonably objective source it should be interesting. Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Falcao and Neymar pick themselves but the rest I'd say 6. David Silva 7. Javi Martinez 8. Xavi 9. Xabi Alonso 10. Ribery
Dembele would easily make any top 100 list. I still believe he can go on to play for a top club. Put anti-Spurs bias aside and you'll see he's a quality footballer who would improve any PL side.
He's been playing well for a Europa league side for half a season.... Before this season started, no-one would ever dream of putting Dembele in a top 100, but now he's played 10 decent games for Spurs he's a world beater? You might as well put Benteke in there too, he was world class against Liverpool, so that must make him top 100.
Dembele is one of the best footballers I've seen play live. It's true he hasn't really played at the top level yet but he is a fantastic player IMO. I can't believe one of the bigger clubs didn't swoop in for just £15m. Like with Berbatov, it seems sheer madness.
Dembele is a decent enough player, but my point is that for him to appear in a top 100 when Wilshere doesn't even feature, is stretching credulity to breaking point.
OK just looked at some other ones, a definite chav-centric football world view there. No, the CL win doesn't explain it either, putting largely unproven players so high up there.
Well one thing's obvious. He only watches the Premier League, matches involving Chelsea, and highlights of Barcelona and Real Madrid games.
Jebus that list should be titled "20 top players and every overrated Brazilian that can kick a football (+50 rank if said Brazilian plays for Chelsea)".
It's a very biased list and shows us Brits don't watch other leagues enough. How the **** is Pirlo not in the top 10? Cavani should be a lot higher too.
