Just read an article about the breaking of world record fees thoughout the years and obviously with Bale being sold for £85.3m, the amounts being paid are getting more and more absurd, the question I have is when will the first £100m transfer happen in your opinion?
Based on the list of the progression of the record from the image I posted on the Finally... thread, I would say in the next 5-6 years.
As soon as we get a reincarnation of Stan Matthews, Tom Finney, George Best, Maradona , Pele or Zidane ? I'll throw in Waggy too. With the absurd money in the game now....give it a couple of years
Don't think it will, if FIFA/UEFA can get their arses in gear, then the likes of Madrid, Man City, Chelsea & PSG won't be able to spend that kind of money, hopefully the overall transfer system will come back to a more sensible level.
It just goes to show that there is a lot of money in the world; it's just in the hands of the wrong people.
Disgusting. Shameful time for football. Children die every minute and all these rich ****s can think about is greed and a game. Hopefully football gets hit square in between the eyes financially and we can go back to being excited to shelling out 100k for players.
Bale AND Ronaldo in the same team . . . . the clubs goal to shots ratio is gonna go mental ! Gotta feel for their strikers too as they just wont get a sniff of the ball now haha
I think this is sad for the EPL. La Liga now has, IMO, the 3 best players in the world, and possibly the 4th as well.
Agreed. I can't get into La Liga though. La Liga might be better technically but it just doesn't entertain like EPL. Especially when the 3rd place team is 30 odds points behind 1st.
