World Cup stars will be back QPR insist Jul 04, 2014 09:00 By Paul Warburton 0 Comments From the Maracana to the Matchroom Stadium in one leap From footballâs greatest stage to the humble surrounds of Leyton Orient awaits Loic Remy and Julio Cesar. Should both France and Brazil exit the World Cup tonight, Rangers insist striker and keeper return to the club for pre-season training in just three weeks. In fact, highly placed sources insist Remyâs move to Arsenal is far from a done deal. The French forward, so far only an 11-minute sub in Brazil, is expected to move to The Emirates when boss Arsene Wenger triggers a £10m clause in Remyâs contract. However, Get West London Sport has discovered no one at Arsenal has set any wheels in motion. Cesar was Brazilâs hero in a penalty shoot-out wiith Chile in the round of 16, but when the keeper was loaned to FC Toronto in February, it was mere confirmation he had no future under boss Harry Redknapp. Both players will go on holiday if their teams are beaten by Germany and Colombia respectively in tonight's quarter finals, but will be back in time to face the away friendly at Orient on July 29. A source said: âThey are paid employees, and they must return to their place of work.â QPRâs full pre-season programme: July 22, Rot Weià Erfurt (away) 7.30pm (local time); July 26, RasenBallsport Leipzig (away) 2.30pm, (local time); July 29, Leyton Orient (away) 7:45pm; July 30, Southend United (away) 7.45pm; August 2, Shamrock Rovers (away) 3pm; August 5, Athlone Town (away) 6pm
Stunning piece of journalism. Obviously the 'sources' do not have any connection with the clubs mentioned, otherwise they would have been cited as 'sources at the club', to lend it a little bit more credibility. Instead we get 'highly placed sources at the Goldhawk Road branch of Poundland'. Obviously they will return to the club, unless they are sold first.
Well, I sincerely hope they do return to us ................ considering that we are now back in the big smoke, hopefully, they too will have renewed vigor to show their style with us. Put it this way, by playing for us will highlight their ability. If they play for someone else, they'll just fade to the rest of the team. Seriously, we could already have ( with the couple of already proposed signings ) a great competitive PL team. Com on you R'rsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
I guess if you're a work-experience hack stuck in the basement and your boss up on floor 38 tells you to write some guff about QPR's World Cup stars, you can attribute this to a highly placed source. I'd love it if Remy could be persuaded to stay, but it ain't going to happen. All players are going to wait until after the World Cup and they've had a holiday before they get the ball rolling. It's what we'd all do in the same situation.
Is Cesar's place of work still the park? "From football’s greatest stage to the humble surrounds of Leyton Orient awaits Loic Remy and Julio Cesar." Is this written by a professional? What awaits them? A taxi? A postcard? Surely a proficient use of the English language is mandatory?
Remy is gone and I think Cesar would be gone too if anyone would put in a decent offer. Try and get them million for Remy and spend it on forwards who are more suited to our style, target men.
