England are in the world cup.

    Lets do an experiment.

Lets see who every one would put in their World Cup England squad if they had to pick it now, and then see how every ones squads change by the end of the season. Ignoring injuries unless the player will definitely miss the whole competition.

So 23. To me that means two players per position and one extra keeper. Like a 433 for England.

    Keeper:
    Hart, Ruddy, Forster.

    Full backs:
    Johnson, Baines, A.Cole, Walker.

    Center back:
    Cahill, Jagielka, Dawson, Smalling.

    Center Midfield:
    Gerrard, Barry, Lampard, Henderson.

    Attacking midfield:
    Rooney, Barkley.

    Wingers/Wid Forwards:
    Walcott, Chamberlain, Townshend, Lallana.

    Strikers:
    Sturridge, Lambert.

Center back was hard. A third full back was tough to.

Gerrez will pick Milner... As captain.

Basically my squad is pretty easy to pick due to the total lack of decent talent!

Keeper: as per OP. I would perfer better but this is where we are at.
    Hart, Ruddy, Forster.

Full backs: these really pick themselves IMO, only luke shaw and gibbs really comes to mind
    Johnson, A.Cole, Baines, Walker.

Center back: this is an issue for england. first 3 for me are shoe ins. I would bring jones over smalling for some donkeying but think smalling would be a choice for RB

    Cahill, Jagielka, Dawson, Jones.

Center Midfield: i'd not bring fat frank here.
    Gerrard, Barry, Wilshire, Henderson.

Wingers/Wide Forwards: I would be thinking of dropping one here for a midfielder. we need more in midfield.
    Walcott, Chamberlain, Townsend, Lallana.

Strikers: I would NEVER go to a tournament without enough strikers, all bar mabert can fill in wide.
    Sturridge, Lambert, rooney, welbeck.

I'd actually ask Terry to come out of internation retirement to play in defense.

Those squads just don't look that good, if you get a bad group you won't get out of it.

That's pretty much the squad that will go unfortunately (depending on injuries obviously) although I suspect Wilshire will be in there rather than Lamps or Barry and possibly Welbeck for Ox or Lallana. Let's be honest here it's ****ing average at best. If that squad gets to the quarters they will have overachieved and that's saying something.

Personally I'd go 4-3-3 with that squad. Back 4 i suspect will be GJ, Cahill, jags, Cole....so a mid of Gerrard, Wilshire and Barkley with Wooney floating behind Studge and Townshend playing from wider positions.

    Roy will take:
    Hart, Ruddy and Forster
    Johnson, Cole, Baines and Walker
    Cahill, Jagielka, Jones and Smalling
    Carrick, Gerrard, Lampard and Wilshere
    Walcott, Townsend, Milner and Chamberlain
    Sturridge, Lambert, Welbeck and Rooney

That means no spot for Barry (who should go), Henderson (performing far better than most other English players), Lallana (deserves to go) or Barkley. He has his favourites and some undroppables. Some have simply been in contention for so long that they'll go now regardless of form. We'll get knocked out the group stage.

    I would take:
    Hart, Ruddy and Forster
    Johnson, Baines, Cole and Walker
    Cahill, Dawson, Jagielka and Smalling
    Gerrard, Wilshere, Henderson and Barry
Lallana, Chamberlain, Barkley, Walcott and Townsend
    Sturridge, Rooney and Lambert

Bit more narrow (we have good fullbacks for that though) but better all round.

Oh crap, forgot about that lump. He'll skip Chamberlain then and take another United 'potential world class player'

I see a few have left out Carrick. I find that surprising as I think he should definitely be in there.

    Oh dear lord. Abysmal midfield.

Carrick, Wilshere, Barkley in a 3. Then flip a coin for Gerrard and Lampard.

You lot need to face facts as well. Jones is 100% going providing hes fit. Hes able to cover a variety of positions which will mean hes already on the plane.

I'm referring to Lloyd Jones, the CB in our youth team, and Phil Jones the utility player in yours <whistle>

Your always saying how great Milner is.

  18. No I'm not, I think he is better than people give him credit for IF he were to be played in his best position, in the middle!

Worst thing he did was join Man City IMO

Maybe I'm getting you confused with some one else. Some one on here hates him.

  20. I certainly don't hate him. I used to want Liverpool to sign him, I thought he would have been a great replacement for Gerrard <ok>
