Last 16 and now getting down to the nitty-gritty, so who do you think will make the semi-finals?

I'm going for Brazil, Germany, Holland & Argentina.

What do you think? Some decent odds on getting the four correct...

I've gone for the same four as you Soop's. I've been trying to work out who will do what and when as I'm leading the Dream Team League that I'm in with my mates. Thirty Eight of us at £50 a team with first place getting paid out about a grand.

    Brazil, Mexico, Germany and Argentina.

Not very imaginative I guess, but there is a gulf in class between many of the teams. Very close quarter final between France and Germany which could go either way, France' big brother complex towards Germany deciding the tie.
And the winner of Neherlands v Mexico should have an easy way to the semi.

It would be a shock if it was anything apart from those four, Holland probably have the best chance of screwing up as they usually throw it away at most world cups.

I'm watching the Brazil v Chile game now, very entertaining. But a team playing Fred and Hulk and as dodgy at the back as Brazil are will be found out eventually, possibly in this game. Van Persie and Robben would have a lot of fun with this lot.

Difficult to go against Brazil, Germany, Holland & Argentina.

But there is a decent probability of a surprise or two.

Watching Brazil/Chile at the moment. If Chile can hang in there, the pressure will build on Brazil.

Can't bear the thought of being surrounded by cocky krauts at work so I'll say Brazil, Holland, Argentina and France.

Of course Brazil will be favourites, but to reject the possibility of Columbia beating them would be wrong.

Every bit as good as Chile with more attacking threat. It is not as if Brazil played below their capacity yesterday, they just arn't particulary better than their neighbours.

Who will win the Golden Boot? I would love it to be James but expect the winner's name to start with an M.

I've said Germany from day one and I'll stick with them.
Can't see Brazil doing much more.

Germany are extremely lucky to play against Brazil when two of their best players are out. However this could turn out as a strong team performance from Brazil. Goals from Fred and Hulk take Brazil to the final. Kroos will score theGermans consolation goal. Argentina and Holland are gonna play a goalless draw and Holland goes to the finals after penalty shoot out. Ugh i have spoken!
