I actually meant the Germany prediction... you backed them all the way then changed your mind at the last minute, only to have been right all along! That right there is why I don't bet!
... only changed my mind for the prediction league needed two unpredictable outcomes ... and I didn't bet on any of it anyway ... the Germans had the best 'squad' by a country mile and were worthy winners over all ... great World cup ... many memorable moments ...
Ah, good thinking. I do think Germany were the best side and deserved winners. I don't think Messi quite delivered as I hoped and predicted (despite winning the Golden Ball award - unjustly in my opinion). It was a fantastic tournament with only a couple of duds (not bad out of 64 matches!). Just a shame England couldn't have been involved longer.
Messi showed some flashes of brilliance but James Rodriguez stole the show for me ... culminating in that superb goal against Uruguay ... think we should pick our 'team of the tournament' ... I think it is difficult but I'm going for ... Wouldn't argue with too much of that, but would defo have Neuer in goal. Van Persie reserves an honorable mention, as does Tim Howard (there really was some fantastic goal keeping in the tournament).
