We are a work in progress and we've come a long way since the opening day of the season. Who would have thought HH and Mackie would have put in the performances they have and Ali is still looking class. I'm as disappointed as anyone not to have got the 3 pts today as its my birthday and all, but I'm going to celebrate the fact that we're 6 points clear of the relegation zone and if we keep putting in these performances the results will keep coming our way over the course of the season. As frustrating as today was, Chelsea and Stoke could have got something against us if things had gone slightly differently. Let's keep the faith and see us get a point next week at Liverpool. Yes we can!!!! You Rsssssssssssss
Happy Birthday Peru, we would of got 3 points for your birthday if Buz didn't lose the ball. Saying that though, if Faurlin was stronger he would of stopped Morrison from getting away to set up there goal. He should of at least taken him out. Would of been worth him taking a yellow for us to secure the win.
Agree with you Peru decisions have gone for us in previous games thats just the way it goes. Warnock was correct that we probably would have won if Wright Phillips goal had stood but we'd have only have got a draw at Stoke had the penalty been given . Overall i'm happy with how we're doing .with new signings in jan i think we'll finish mid table . And i wouldn't be suprised if we got a point in both of the next two games ,neither Liverpool or United are setting the world alight . Also thank god for Mr. Fernandes because we'd have gone down like an anvil off a tower block had he not turned up !
Do I have this right? Newcastle - result draw - chances were there and should have been QPR win 2 points Aston Villa - result draw - chances were there and should have been QPR win 2 points Blackburn Rovers - result draw - chances were there and should have been QPR win 2 points Norwich City - loss but could have been QPR win; 3 points WBA - result draw - chances were there and should have been QPR win 2 points Man City - loss but - could have been draw but for goalposts; 1 point And 3 points against Chelsea against the expactations I can't always get the match broadcasts over here so I don't know but are any of these hopefuls for the second half or am I being foolishly optimistic. 9 points nearly puts us in Europe at this stage in the season! Should I be hopong for a better result from 5 of those fixtures in 2012 (I think MCFC and Chelsea may improve upon their performances agin us in 2011). And Feb 25 is Retribution Day - I am in a performance of a requiem mass that evening - guess who I will dedicate the performance and all 8 reherasals to.
At the beginning of the season I thought we would fair worse than Derby, so altough sometimes i can be uber critical I am pleasently surprised at where we are at the moment. With the right buys at xmas i think we will be alright.
I agree, and i'm normally the pessimistic one. Fingers crossed we'll pick up another three points this month. If we can get half the required points to survive at the halfway mark, with this paper thin squad, I'll be ecstatic. It's clear our owners intend to strengthen the squad in Jan so I'll bet my house that we'll pick up more points in the second half of the season.
I hope you don't end up homeless, I think the 2nd half of the season is much tougher, especially our last four games and unless there is significant strengthening we are in for 'squeaky bum time'...
yes your right but the teams below us wont have an easy run in and they will have the additional pressure of getting out the bottom 3
Think the second half of season is easier, when you consider our very difficult run in to the end of the first half. I think it will be a success to finish 17th. If we did go down it would be due to the ridiculous pre-season we had, and I think it's limited how much we can do in the January window.
The difference in the 2nd half of the season is the bottom teams are scrambling for their lives every game, whereas the mid-table teams sometimes find that 40 point mark difficult the closer they are to it. Remember how Blackpool and Birmingham both plunged down the table in the last few weeks...
i think we have already lined up our signings in jan and still think they will be enough for us to survive
I'm just hoping Warnock has learned from his Sheffield Utd experience...although i always remember he got us promoted in the first place.
He wasn't given enough to strengthen the team sufficiently to stay up at Sheff Utd, that won't be a problem this time. We just need to keep picking up points regularly. The wins are vital to maintain that gap. 6 wins and 6 draws will be enough! 24 points to safety...
